| Instinct reached the door she was looking for and her army destroyed it with the same force as the previous door, before Instinct stepped out into the clearing which it lead to. She was in the centre of Rahn’s army base now and her army was inside, all except for 50 men who had walked out with her. She raised her sword again and ran forwards towards a wall which faced the outside of the compound. The men who were with her did not have swords, but flaming torches and they scaled the length of the wooden wall, setting every inch of it ablaze. By now there were people coming towards them from Rahn’s armies and they had to move fast. The wall was burning slowly and Instinct raised he sword again, this time giving a loud shout. A ball of fire came from somewhere out side the compound and hit the opposite wall to which Instinct and her men had just burnt. A section of the wall was knocked down from the sheer force of the impact, the rest left to burn. Instinct turned back to the door to the entrance and shouted in to her army. They left the entrance building and while some went deeper into the compound to destroy more sections, mainly looking for weapons storages and supply huts, the bulk of the 600 men she brought in had exited through the hole in the wall. Instinct had done her job, Rahn’s army would soon be flushed out and forced to fight unprepared. * * * * * Hope was sitting on the hill just over from the compound, with his small army of about 750 men behind him, waiting for the signal. It came in the form of the wall of the compound falling from the force of the flaming boulder which had come from a catapult on the hill closest to the compound. He got up quickly and drew each of his swords, holding them above his head and running towards the compound, with his army following him. He looked to his left to see Influence’s army coming from the hill next to the one he’d just left. Hope reached the compound as the half of instinct’s army sent into the compound was leaving. He saw the other half of Instincts army coming to join them from yet another hill. Now with the three armies outside the compound, Hope raised his voice to an amazing volume and said; “Rahn, surrender yourself. We have three armies surrounding your base and you have no chance of escape. If you give yourself up now, then such an extreme amount of blood can be prevented from being spilt today. All these lives will be spared.” Somewhere from deep inside the compound, a voice magnified to a volume that the people waiting outside could hear from the distance they were at. “You fool. That is exactly what I want” Before Hope could give a response, a flurry of arrows came from the walls of the compound which were still standing, raining down on the three armies. * * * * * Influence watched as the arrows rained down on Hope and his army, and how the arrows tore through him in seconds. At least 100 of Hopes men were hit straight away. She heard masses of footsteps from the distance and saw that Rahn’s army was now closing in. She didn’t know how they’d been informed of the assault so fast, but she didn’t have time to think of that. All she could worry about was stopping them in their tracks. She shouted to her army and Hope’s army to turn and face the new attackers, then ran towards them. Instincts army stayed where they were however, holding the compound under siege. The two armies reached Rahn’s oncoming army and started fighting. Influence took her sword and started swinging left and right aiming for the critical points and any visible gaps in the armour of Rahn’s men. She had killed at least 50 men when she found the leader of one section of the army. She swung her sword into his side, which knocked him to the floor, and then she lifted her sword over her head and plunged it into his heart, which had been exposed when she struck him in the side, due to the links holding his chest plate on being cut off. She turned to continue fighting and felt a burst of pain from her back. Influence screamed and fell forwards dying, with a sword in her back. One of Influences men heard the scream and came to check if she was still alive. One of Rahn’s soldiers struck him in the back also and they both lay there, dead. * * * * * When Saint and his army reached the battle, the front walls of Rahn’s compound were on the floor, burning. Somehow, Rahn’s army had managed to reach the battle, which was now in full bloom. Saint shouted to his men. “Go forth and join the armies in battle. This is my final farewell to those who do not survive” He then left his army to fight while he ran into the compound through the gap in the wall and started searching. He ran towards the prison building, keeping a vigilant eye for the members of Instincts army still in the compound. Running through the prison doors, he found Instinct herself waiting for him. “Saint” She shouted over to him. “It’s a complicated system but I’m halfway through the security on the prison, should be about five minutes until I get it fully done.” “I need two cells opening first. Numbers C-189 and C-191.” “I can get it done in a minute” “Perfect, it will only take me a minute to get there. Thank you Instinct and Farewell, for we will not meet again.” He said this last thing to Instinct before setting off for the prison C-Block. He reached it and found Cell C-189 and next to it was C-191. He approached C-189 and saw a 15 year old boy sitting on the bed in the corner. The lock to the door clicked and the boy looked up, his expression quickly changing to a beaming smile. “Dad!” The boy shouted. At the same time a girl came out of cell C-191, bearing a similar expression to her brothers. “Now listen to me you two. These are two of the only weapons left which can kill Rahn, take them and stay alive, no matter what the costs” Saint pulled out two swords which both looked the same except for the marking on the handle. The one with a moon was given to his daughter and the one with the sun was given to his son. | |||
