Chapter Six

Aside from all the cutesy stuff that Hayley and I share toward each other, it's not all fun underneath it all. What I mean by that is that her and I had our share of fights and arguments over really the stupidest things. And that's to be expected between couples right? At first anyway and these are the first stages of our relationship. We haven't gone public with it, like, tell the fans or anything because we don't know how they'd handle it. Sure, we've reassured each other time and time again that they'd be happy for us but we don't know that for sure. So, until we've sorted this out and decided what we're gonna do and when we're gonna tell everyone... /how/ we're gonna tell everyone. Well, it's gonna stay between the five of us. For now. We've had trouble trying to keep it secretive when we're out in public, performing, signings and everything. It seems we never have time for one another between all those things. Though, we do try to sneak in a quick kiss every now and then. Hugging we don't really see as a problem since everyone knows how close we are already. As long as I don't try and seem completely attached to Hayley's hip 24/7 then we're good to go. And in the evenings is when we get our 'Josh and Hayley time'. No, I do not mean /that/. To be honest, either Hayley is taking this 'pre-marital sex' thing to hard or she just isn't ready. Hell, /I'm/ not even ready. And don't even start that whole 'AWHHH' thing or I'll beat ya down. We've never even talked about it all that much and well, why would we? That's still a little uncomfortable even though we are going out. Anyways, what I mean by 'Josh and Hayley time' is acting all cute up in the bunk or chasing each other around the bus. Yeah, it's good stuff.

Hayley's been bugging me to think up ways on how we'd tell the fans that we're dating. When we're walking in public, she'll just tug on my arm and give me a cute puppy look but on the bus she corners me in my bunk (literally) and bugs me about it. Of course, I don't get mad at her for her persistence. There's no way I could ever get mad at her. She just wants this to be lay out easily for everyone. "Maybe we could post a video up on .net?" I suggested one evening while she straddled me in my bunk. "It's a bit more... elaborate than just a livejournal post, don't you think?" She just shook her head and jumped off my bunk. "I have to think about this..." Was her response. To you, this may seem like an odd thing to fret so much over but to her it was huge. To me, as well. Telling our fans could risk in a loss of some if they didn't support us. So this had to be thought through a lot more before any decisions were made. Which is actually what I'm doing right now, sitting out in the bus' back lounge with my laptop set out in front of me. I had my Instant Messenger open but there were only two people online. Zac and Ajax. I glanced at the time and it was around 11:45 PM. I needed to talk to someone and ask their opinion but who would be the better choice to talk to. Surely, it's a no-brainer and I clicked on Zac's screename and watched the window pop up on my screen and I began typing away.

theJman087: Hey, little bro.
zatchell90: eyyy eyyy wuz up man

I shook my head and chuckled at his chat speak.

theJman087: I need you to help me out with something.
zatchell90: whats that
theJman087: Well, Hayley and I want to tell people that, y'know, we're dating.
zatchell90: and?
theJman087: I gave her a suggestion on how but she didn't exactly give me a straight answer.
theJman087: But I'm not so sure if we're ready for people to know.
zatchell90: then let her kno that
theJman087: I have! Many times.
zatchell90: then she must rlly want the peeples to know eh?
theJman087: Haha, I guess.
zatchell90: think of it this way...she wants every1 to kno about the great guy she bagged
theJman087: Oh, Zac. Thanks but that's not the greatest way in wording it.
zatchell90: its how i do brotha man
theJman087: So... you're saying we should tell everyone?
zatchell90: im saying u should talk to hayley about this
theJman087: I have talked to her.
zatchell90: then talk to her again smart one! now go away me and ajax are writing up a new rap
theJman087: Fiiine. I'll go talk to her. Tell Ajax I said hi.
zatchell90: no
theJman087: You're mean.

And with that I signed off, shut off my laptop and headed over to Hayley's bunk. By now it was around midnight and I wasn't sure if she would be asleep or not. But as I reached her bunk I saw a bright light, which must've been coming from her own laptop, which told me she was awake. I stepped on top of my bunk so I could reach hers (she has the top bunk) and I pushed the curtain back. She turned her head swiftly and when she noticed it was me and not some serial killer, she grinned and scooted over for me. I clambered into her bunk and settled myself next to her. "Hey you," I greeted, smiling. "Hi," she replied, leaning up to kiss my cheek. "What're you up to?" I asked her, craning my head to get a better look at what she was doing on her laptop. "Just listening to music," she replied, gesturing to the pair of headphones beside her. "Hey, how about we talk," I said, reaching over and pulling her laptop out of her reach. "How about we don't?" She retorted, wriggling away from me and reaching for her laptop again. "No, c'mon, why are you mad?" I asked her, kicking her laptop to the end of her bunk and even more out of her reach. She groaned and leant into me and I smiled, satisfied as I shifted in my spot to make her more comfortable. "I'm not mad. I'm just.." She ran a hand through her fiery hair. "I'm frustrated." I gave a nod telling her that I understood why and I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and gave her a squeeze, pushing her into my chest more. "I want everyone to know but I don't know if I'm ready for them to know yet," I told her quietly. "Same here," she replied and I looked down at her with a look of confusion. "But I thought-" She waved a hand and shook her head. "Well I lied, didn't I?" She giggled at me and gave me a sly smile. "You suck," I mumbled, and I felt her leaning back into me. "I heard that," she assured me and putting on a how-dare-you-face. "Bummer," I mumbled again and I looked at her just in time to notice her stifle a yawn. "Well I'm gonna let you sleep..." I told her shifting and about to scoot myself off her bunk when I felt her wrap her slender arms around my waist and pull me back over to her. "No, stay," she mumbled tiredly and she buried her face in my chest like I was her pillow or something. I sighed and decided not to protest when really I wanted nothing more than to stay here with her. So I succumbed and pushed one of her abandoned pillows behind my head. My arms found my way to her waist and I hugged her tight and within minutes, she was fast asleep. Her breathing in sync with mine and I smiled contentedly. I took this time to take in her features and embed them in my mind; she was so beautiful. I found myself compelled to just reach out and trace the contours of her face, her lips... But I fought against it. It wouldn't be right to take advantage of her while she was sleeping. I lay may head against hers and within minutes I had drifted off to sleep, too.

------------
I woke up with a start but I didn't come to completely. I felt something tickling my neck but I was too tired and lazy to push it away. Next thing I knew, through blurred eyes I saw a flash of red and then something warm against my cheek. It then moved to my lips and I realized that it was Hayley. I sweetly kissed her back as I forced myself to wake up as I jerked my body awake and when my eyes snapped open, Hayley was hovering mere inches above me with a cute grin on her face. I gave a tired smile and yawned, placing my hand in front of my mouth to cover it up as I scooted up in her bunk. "Finally, sleepyhead," she greeted, her grin stretching from ear to ear. She had always gotten a kick out of seeing me when I first wake up in the morning. I have yet to figure out why. When my eyes came into focus, I glanced at Hayley and noticed that she was dressed with a little black eyeliner tracing her green eyes. Then it hit me that we had a photoshoot today and I was more than likely the last one up so I'd have to hustle to get myself ready. "Fuuuuck," I groaned, stretching and yawning again. "I forgot all about the photoshoot today." Hayley giggled at me and reached out to ruffle my hair. "C'mon," she said, grabbing both my hands and pulling me in an upright position. Her eyes scanned over my face and she giggled again and leaning in close to my face. "You're so cute," she cooed, placing a hand on my cheek and giving me a short but gentle kiss. I just chuckled at her, still too tired to process everything and she had me up on my feet and into the bus' bathroom. Every now and then she'd barge in on me, tossing clothes left and right for me to choose from. I quickly threw something on but I wanted to be cool and spiffy for this photoshoot so I wanted to put some of Hayley's eyeliner on but I'm a guy so I didn't know how. "Haaaayley!" I called, reaching for her eyeliner pencil and she walked in, closing the door behind her. "What's up, babe?" She asked, stepping closer to me when her eyes noticed the eyeliner and she smirked. I looked at her and grinned. "Can you help me?" I asked, holding the eyeliner in front of her face and she rolled her eyes and took it from me. "Alright, stand still and look up.." she instructed me and I did so, feeling the eyeliner run lightly across underneath my eyes quickly. "Okay, now close 'em," she breathed and I obliged, feeling the pencil run across, my eyelids flickering because it tickled for some reason unbeknowest to me. The pencil moved away from my face and I felt her press her lips up against mine quickly. "Okay, you're all set," she told me and I opened my eyes to find her grinning at me. "You look good!," she assured, holding both thumbs up. "Do I now?" I asked playfully and leaning over to her, grabbing her hips and pulling her back to me and causing her to squeal from the abruptness of it all. She giggled as she slung her arms loosely around my neck. "Mhm," she mumbled, leaning up to kiss me again. "You should wear eyeliner more often." I gaped at her which caused another look of confusion from her. "Excuse me but it's called guyliner," I corrected her. "Oh is that what you men call it?" she asked playfully and placing a warm hand against my neck. We heard a rapid knock on the door and then Zac's booming voice, "HEY! Enough fooling around in there, you nasties! We gotta go!" Hayley giggled and seperated from me but not without ruffling up my hair again before bolting out the door with me on her heels.

She was so gonna get it now.
