| I hadn't told the guys that Hayley and I were together yet. It's not like they'd make a huge deal out of it, they've known how much I've been in love with the girl forever. Okay, since I was 13 but same difference. But, they wouldn't protest against it, they think we'd be cute together. They've always joked about us and our cute, flirty ways with each other and how we might as well just fess up and tell them that we're together. But we weren't at the time. That's just how the two of us are, we flirt. What's the problem with that? Just a little shameless flirting. It never hurt anyone. But, since the other night when I told her that I had resorted to self-harming again over her and seriously, I was /this/ close to begging for her. I need Hayley in my life. Well, moreso than she already is. I mean, relationship-wise, if that's even the right way to word it. She's always been my shoulder to cry on and my confidant but now she's something more. And when she responded to me with a 'two-in-the-morning makeout session', I pretty much took that as a yes. But I wanted to be sure so I had asked her when we woke up that morning and she was all 'duh, silly' and punched me playfully in the arm. And I had worn a smile since. Now, I can finally be happy. No more fake smiles or a 24/7 serious attitude. I can go back to my relaxed and carefree self like I had been before. You have no idea how excited I am to do so. Sometime during the afternoon, I had decided to round up the guys and tell them that Hayley and I are dating. There's no reason for us to keep this a secret. We love each other and there's really no way we'd be able to hide that around them for much longer. So, on Hayley's behalf, I went to tell them. I lead them to the back lounge and sat them down, they were staring at me with worried faces. "Dude, what's up?" Taylor asked, concern in his voice. I couldn't help but grin at how concerned they looked. And it was also funny because there was /no/ reason to be concerned or worried or whatever. I guess, they just assumed something bad was up? I'm not sure but it was still pretty funny which was why I ended up grinning and I saw the guys untense a little when they saw my grin. "Don't worry, it's not bad. Not at all," I said reassuringly, waving my hand. "It's a good thing actually... a really good thing." Zac was getting impatient like he always is and started getting jittery. "Just spit it out already!" He called, anxiously and bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet. I chuckled at his anxiousness and nodded. "Alright, alright. So, you wanna know?" I asked, more directed to Zac as I teased him with my oncoming news. He nodded his head vigorously and stepped closer. "You reeeeally wanna know?" I asked again, dragging out my 'really'. My actions were getting Zac irritated and I could tell. Jeremy and Taylor were getting a bit annoyed as well but never as much as my brother. "TELL ME!" Zac shouted, flailing his arms madly in the air. I choked back my laughter and walked up to my brother and placing my hands on his shoulder, holding him steady as I stared him directly in the eyes. "Okay..." I sighed, changing my mind as I decided to make this sound like it could be hard on him. I put on the straighest most serious face when really I wanted to grin hugely and laugh hysterically in his face. "This is.. kinda hard to say but," I said, avoiding his gaze as his eyes bored into my head. "Hayley and I are dating." I said, looking back up and allowing the grin that wanted to show up for so long that it was almost painful to hold back and stepping away from Zac as a huge grin formed on his face, too. He looked behind him at Jeremy and Taylor who were also grinning and Jeremy walked over to me and punched me playfully in the arm. "Well, it's 'bout time, dude." He said, chuckling. Taylor just clapped me on the back as he walked past. "Can I go eat now?" He asked, jokingly as he headed down to the front of the bus. Zac followed suit, bumping into things on his way out like the usual clumsy self he is. "Oh, me too!" He chimed in brightly as he left. I stayed with Jeremy in the back lounge as he walked over to play Guitar Hero. "I'm really happy for you, Josh. You got a good one." He said, looking over to me with a smile as he held the guitar controller in his hands and waiting for the game to load. "Thanks, Jerm." He gave me a nod and I left. As I walked to the front of the tour bus I heard the bus door open and Hayley bounced giddily onto the bus, her bright red hair tied into a ponytail, her bangs framing her face nicely and she wore her yellow sunglasses over her eyes. I grinned at her as she literally skipped down the aisle towards the bunk area where I was standing directly in the middle of and she jumped into my arms. I nearly fell backward but I managed to keep my balance, wrapping my arms around her waist and hugging her back. I pulled away from the hug and looked at her with mock stern. "You're late." I said, trying to sound firm but a smile was slipping onto my face. She sighed and hit me playfully. "I am /not/ late." She whined, her sunglasses glistening from the lighting in the tour bus. "You are." I argued, squeezing her in my arms tightly. "Am not!" She argued back and flailing in my embrace, trying to break free. I loosened my grip and she pushed past me, attempting to run to the back lounge but I grabbed her around her waist and twirled her back around. She squealed cutely and pushed my arms away as she faced me, crossing her arms across her chest and pouting at me. I chuckled and inched toward her, placing my hands on her hips and leaning in to kiss her pout. She kissed me back, her arms gliding around my neck as she pulled herself closer against me. I could tell she wanted more than a simple peck by the way she tilted her head and deepened the kiss almost hungrily but she's not a girl that goes for lust so I knew she didn't want /more/ more if you catch my drift. At least not at the moment so with a little difficulty I pulled away and she groaned, pouting again as she tried catching my lips again in another kiss but I laughed and backed my head away. "I told the guys." I said, hoping that would direct her mind onto the conversation rather than my lips. It must've worked because her eyes traveled from my lips to my eyes and she smiled. "You did? Awh, thank you Josh." She said, thankfully and kissing my cheek. I shrugged. "My pleasure." Hayley brought a small hand up and ran it through my hair, ruffling it and pulling out of our embrace, turning around and skipping toward the front of the bus. I followed after her and she stopped, turning around to look at me. "Are you following me?" She asked, accusingly. "No." I said, simply and she gave me a sly grin and continued walking. I caught up to her and grabbed her hand, lacing our fingers together. "Hey, you wanna go outside?" I whispered in her ear and she nodded, walking backward as she pulled me outside. I yelled a quick 'See ya' to the guys as the tour bus door slammed shut and we were outside bathed in sunlight. It was only about one in the afternoon and I was glad to spend it with Hayley. She stood beside me, our fingers still intertwined and she leant her head on my shoulder, her other hand gripping my forearm as we walked. "So where are we going?" She asked me, tilting her head up slightly to look at me. "Just for a walk." I replied, looking down at her. "That okay with you, madam?" I asked, oh so courteously. "Yes, sir." She replied, giggling and returning her gaze to the dirt path we were walking along. There was a few minutes of silence but it wasn't that awkward silence that I hate so much. This was more of a content silence. I heard Hayley sigh contently beside me as we headed for a grassy field bordering the dirt path we were walking on. It was a pretty huge field, with hills of all sizes dotting it. Hayley gasped and released my hand as she darted for the field. As she ran she turned her head back and shouted, "Can't catch me!" I rolled my eyes are her silliness and jogged after her. It was never hard to catch Hayley. Whenever we'd play tag or some other silly game while we all hung out together, Hayley would take a second to catch up to. Though I bet you if she had some other reason to run like a maniac then she would. I quickened my pace and raced after her, the wind slapping me in the face as I ran, obviously catching up to her and I wrapped my arms around her waist as I ran into her causing her to trip from my weight and she fell with me along with her down a small hill. After our fall, she was positioned underneath me, wriggling around and trying to push me off. I chuckled as I rolled off of her, our breathing heavy as she suddenly burst into laughter. "You cheated!" She shouted, pointing at me and brushing herself off. I rolled my eyes again. "Oh yes, Hayley. I sprouted wings and flew into you. Mhm," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm which caused her to hit me playfully. "Shut up." She responded, a calm smile on her face as she reached up to adjust her sunglasses which had gone askew from the fall. She dropped her hands back down and wrapped her arms around herself. I shifted and pulled her into me as we fell back onto the soft grass. She rested her head on my chest and directed her gaze toward the sky. I gently ran my fingers up and down her arm and rested my head against hers slightly. "Psst, Hayles," I whispered in her ear, causing her to shiver slightly in my arms. "Psst, Josh. What?" She whispered back, tilting her head up, her green eyes staring into my brown ones. "I love youuu, baaaabe," I said, in a singsong voice causing her to giggle and shake her head. "Really? How much?" She laughed. I sat up, causing her to do the same and I stretched my arms out as wide as they could go. "Thiiiiis much." She shook her head, placing her hands on her hips. "Not good enough." She said, simply but I knew she was joking. Though, I decided to humor her. I waved my arms around me in a circle. "Thiiiiis much?" I tried again. Again, she shook her head. I sighed in defeat, my head dropping and I pouted. I smirked and leant in, at least an inch from her face. Her lips parted slightly and I felt her breath against my lips and I saw her lips curve into a smirk as well. "This much?" I asked, again, pressing my lips tenderly against hers. She again became the dominant one and tilted her head, deepening the kiss as she lay back in the grass, pulling me on top of her. I threw my hand out palm down on the grass to support myself so that I didn't crush her under my weight. She eagerly slipped her tongue in my mouth, prodding desperately at my teeth and I gave in, allowing her access and letting mine to explore her mouth. A moan slipped from my mouth as I felt her tongue graze the roof of my mouth so tantalizingly slow that it sent shivers shooting down my spine. My hands found my way to her shirt and they crawled subtly underneath the fabric, my cold fingers touching her lower stomach and I could tell she was trying to choke back a gasp at the sudden cold touch to her skin. Her arms slowly hooked around my neck, running her fingers through my hair and I felt her fingers crawl down to my neck just ever so slowly. Her fingers were rather cold too and I had to choke back a gasp as well. I just knew that that was payback but I didn't care. This was just too good. Just as things started getting more heated, she ended up pulling away slowly, our lips still grazing each other, less than an inch away. "Yeah, that's good." She replied, out of breath to the question I asked mere minutes before. I could tell that she was satisfied. | |||
