	Chapter 5 I love Christmas. Christmas is a time of giving and receiving. The twinkling of the Christmas lights that hang around our house. The merry singing coming from the dancing Santa Clause on top of the fireplace. The many gifts that lay underneath the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. But the best thing about Christmas is spending time with family and friends. But this year, I had a feeling it was going to be different "IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!!!!!!!" screamed Maria as she ran up to me, "Wahoo!" I said, unenthusiastically. Maria's grin immediately dropped, "Hey! Cheer up mate... It's Christmas. Time to be jolly!" she said, nudging me playfully but the she saw my facial expression, "Aww, honey. Forget about him. I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason why he's avoiding you," "Yeah... to suck the face off Teri," I muttered, darkly. Maria knows how much I like... liked... Aidan. "Teri... he never told me it was Teri!" she said, her eyes flashing with anger, "Yeah... well it is," I shrugged and walked off to class. "Psssst," I turned to see where the noise was coming from, "Over here!" the voice sad again. I turned the other way and saw Ali smirking at me, "Here," she said, tossing a folded note to me, I caught it in one hand. Suki Darling! I raised my eyebrow. How are you? In fact... how are you feeling? Aidan and I are like the greatest couple ever. Aww, don't worry... I told him about your little crush. What the... how the hell? He feels very sorry for you... but he's sure you'll get over it. Teri xx The patronizing little bitch! I rose from my desk angrily and quickly ran out of the classroom not before seeing the concerned faces of Maria and Aidan... Aidan what does he care? I thought. Aidan's P.O.V "Sir, I'll go after her," I immediately said at the same time as Maria. Maria turned and glared at me and quickly walked out of the class with me following, "Maria!" she carried on walking determined to get to her destination, "MARIA! WAIT UP!" I shouted after her, "What the hell do you want?" she asked, folding her arms across her chest and standing in front of me with this feeling of anger emanating from her, "Do you know what's wrong with Suki?" I asked, twiddling my thumbs, "What do you think is wrong, doofus!" she said before walking off, "Hey... hey! Don't call me a doofus, what did I do?" I asked running to catch up to her, "Well apart from ignoring and avoiding Suki I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong," she said sarcastically, "I... I – can explain!" I tried desperately, but we both knew there was no excuse for my behaviour, "I'm sure you can, Aidan," I spun round on my heel and saw Suki standing behind me. She looked beautiful despite her slightly pink nose and the tears leaking from the corner of her eyes. She hastily ran a hand across her eyes to wipe them away; I grabbed her hand mid-wipe and pulled her close, "Suki... You gotta hear me out," I whispered, "Why should I listen to you... after all you never listen to me as far as I can recall," she said looking at me through her thick, long eyelashes, "I... look there's something I gotta tell you," I said, entwining my fingers between hers, "Save it," she half-shouted at me and trying to pull from my grasp, "Suki, I lo – " I started, "Aidan!" I looked up and saw Teri standing there with fire in her eyes and Ali and Hannah standing behind her, "I've been looking everywhere for you! What are you doing with her?" she said, faking a smile, "Err... nothing!" I said, dropping Suki's hand like a dead weight and hurried over to her. I looked back and saw Suki with so much hurt in her eyes and Maria trying to comfort her. Damnit... why does it have to be like this?
