| Chapter 2 My alarm promptly woke me up at 6 o'clock, as usual. As soon as I woke up, I had a feeling that today was going to be different. But I wasn't sure if it was going to be a good different or bad different. I had my breakfast and checked around the house, as usual. I immediately felt at ease. "Suki, wait up!" I turned around and saw my best friend, Maria, running to catch me up. I smiled warmly as she neared me, "Hey," I said, quietly, shifting my bag to the other shoulder, "How you doing?" she said, imitating Joey from Friends. I laughed at her. Maria was the greatest girl in the world. She was a pretty girl with layered honey colored hair, aqua blue eyes and pouty lips. Most boys would come up to her on a daily basis but she batted them off with a stick (not literally, ha-ha.). But like I said before we mostly kept to ourselves, we were the quiet girls, "Come on, we're nearly late!" she told me, grabbing my hand and running to form room. "Well, well, well... look who the cat dragged in," I bowed my head and tried to get past them but they just stood in my way, "What's the rush? Don't you wanna... catch up?" I looked up and came face to face with the leader of the group. Ali was... how to put it? ...big boned. She was the sort of girl who wouldn't want to run into on the street in fear of being beaten up. I don't even know why I was friends with her in the first place. She scared me silly. "Hello, Ali," I said quietly, observing the rest of the group. There was Teri, Ali's sidekick. She was a squat girl with bright blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, totally unlike Maria's kind eyes. Teri's looked cold and calculating, I only noticed this when I stopped being friends with them. Lastly was Hannah, she was a pretty girl and I wondered why she hung around with them. She was the only nice one to me, but only when it was just the two of us. Right now, I saw her look apologetically at me. I didn't want her pity... if she was really sorry for me; she would try and stick up for me, "What now? Cat got your tongue?" Teri sneered at me; I shook my head slowly and managed to finally get past them, "Watch your back, Suki. You'll regret ever leaving us," Ali called after me. I felt a single tear escape from my eye as I walked away. "Are you okay?" Maria asked, concerned of my welfare, "No not really. Ran into them lot, again," I said, taking my books out of messenger bag, "Oh, dear," she muttered, "Suki, you really got to stick up for yourself. I mean, you can't let them get to you like this," she said, before taking her seat, "Hmm," I replied. I knew she was right. As we sat down in our places our headmistress, Mrs. Loxley, walked in, "Class, today we have a new student joining you today. Please give a warm welcome to Aidan," Mrs. Loxley looked behind her expecting to find Aidan but saw no-one. She swiftly walked of the classroom and coxed a painfully shy Aidan into the room, "Come on, Aidan. Nothing to worry about," she said. Slowly, Aidan came into the room with his head hanging low, "Say hello, class," Mrs Loxley, said. I heard a few people murmur a hello and Aidan lifted his head and gave a shy smile. I heard several girls take a sharp intake of breathe. Aidan was, to put it simply, handsome. From what I could make out, because I was seated at the back of the classroom, he had floppy black hair that just reached his jaw line and emerald green eyes. He was quite tall and wore a My Chemical Romance t-shirt with black skinny jeans and a pair of red and black Vans, "He's fit, don't you think?" Maria whispered, "He's... alright," I replied, I was wary. I've had occasions where I met boys like Aidan; they were all cocky and stuck up themselves. "Awh, come off that... you know he's the bomb diggity," Maria said, grinning slightly at me. I shook my head in disbelief as I watched Aidan make his way to the seat behind me, "Hi," I heard, from behind me. I ignored him. Like I said, I was wary. | |||
