|“Yep, there sure is an Ethan Davids on this list.” Says the Texan.|
“What?! Really?! Oh thank you so much, you don’t know how much this means to me!” I run around to the other side of the desk and hug the woman.
“OK, OK, that’s enough now,” She pauses and looks over my shoulder, “well if you really care about your friend, you might wanna go wait at that gate over there because that’s the flight passengers arriving now.” I turn around to see a stream of tanned faces march through the gate towards friends and family.
“Thank you so much.” I say gratefully to the woman and I run off towards the arrivals. Caroline hurries to my side.
“No.” I say. We see a figure pass the gate, dressed in black trousers and a bright blue t-shirt.
“Ethan?” I whisper to myself. He looks normal enough as he strides towards us; his shoes making a slight squelching noise as he walks.
“Hi guys! I didn’t know you were coming!” He says whilst flicking his black hair from his face.
“Erm…yeah.” I say cautiously.
“Danny I’m really sorry I didn’t tell you I was going, it was kind of a spur of the moment thing. Then I lost my mobile, didn’t I, so I couldn’t call you. I’m glad Caroline told you.” I give her a cold look.
“Yeah. Ethan, I have something to ask you…” I tell him the whole story.
“Wha- Is this a joke?” He yells back at me.
“No.” I feel slightly scared so I take a step back.
“But my twin’s dead, how could you possibly meet him?” He says. Caroline and I exchange bewildered looks. He’s never told me that he had a twin. A dead one especially. Caroline decides to break the awkward silence.
“So who’s this person who been posing as either you or your…twin?” Then all of a sudden Caroline and I both look past Ethan so see a mirror image of him.
“Hi Ethan,” Ethan turns around and gasps as the mirror image, who’s face is distorted by a massive wound sneers, “I’m back.”
