	Later that night

	Later that night as we came through our front door I was so happy with my new dog my mum said he weighed a ton because he sat on her shoulder the whole way . I sat down on the floor beside him he must have been tired because he curled round me and lay there his eyes were squinted I stroked his head and he went right to sleep . The next morning I was the first one up to see the puppy it was unusual because a puppy's first night they are known to whine but he didn't . Then my mum and dad got up and said we had to name him I wanted to name him Jake mum wanted to name him Ben dad wanted to name him Broxy then we all agreed to name him Broxy then we changed his name to Ben . Something about the name Ben screamed out gentle loving cute Labrador . After school I came home and found my porky puppy tucking in to marrow bones my mum .must have been filling him up all day with other types of dog biscuits but you could tell that he was happy in his new home then my dad came in from his work with a dog tag , collar , lead and dog food . He said I was to get my coat and then we were taking Ben a walk so we walked up Queens way and down Dykes road with Ben he was sniffing his new territory with a lot of interest he had some problems with walking because he wanted to pull away and run .
