Chapter 8.

Jessica shot out of bed. Her hair line was dripping with sweat, and her heart was racing, beating like a wild drum. She breathed heavy and fast trying to catch her breath, trying to bring it down to a normal pace. Her toes were cringed, and her legs were bare. She had kicked her covers onto the floor. She was hot, yet she shivered, thinking back at her dream, sent an instant chill down her spine.
She looked at her alarm clock. It was 5:00 o’clock in the morning, the sun still hadn’t come up. Jessica, still shook up from her nightmare, decided to fake sick in hopes they would allow her to stay in her room all day. Jessica got out of bed and wandered aimlessly around the room. It was hot….and her head felt like bullets of fire had hit it. Maybe she wouldn’t have to pretend, she thought. ‘Maybe I am sick’.
Jessica stayed in bed, knowing it would piss off her councilor who would be frustrated waiting for her. About thirty minutes after Jessica was supposed to be there, the councilor sent some one to go fetch her. Jessica, like she had planned, pleaded ill. The intern felt her skin. She was sweating bullets and was as pale as a ghost. So the intern went back and reported her ill. .They allowed her to stay in bed the rest of the day.
As Jessica lay in bed thinking about the night that awaited her, the fever had left her. Hours past, and Jessica was drowned in her own boredom. So she took a shower, rested, and then took another shower. But the minutes that were passing seemed to take longer and longer. Jessica grew anxiouse, so she picked out her outfit. She had to race back into bed every time a staff member would come to check on her. It made her ankles sore from running back in forth at the speed of life so she could cover herself with blankets and make it look as though she were sleeping. The last visit that was paid to her was from the doctor she had met the first day. He made sure he was feeling better then prescribed she sleep the next day too, just incase. This came as a shock to Jessica, since she was feeling completely better. But she knew she’d enjoy being alone. So the doctor left the room biding her goodnight for the evening. Then he locked the door behind him as they always did.
Jessica could hardly sit still, she was beyond excited to see Trevor, and sneak out of her room again. She found the key from behind her bed and gripped it tight in her hands. Her eyes were big as she stared at the clock. She waited five hours in total before she decided to leave. That made it 1:00 o’clock in the morning, the perfect time to go. She got up quickly and dressed herself in the clothes of which she had chosen earlier that day. Black, Capri, sweat pants with a red tank-top. Before leaving she decided it would be cold so she grabbed her little black jacket and wrapped herself in it, then she headed for the door. Her heart raced, she felt the adrenalin flowing through her body, down her arms and into her finger tips. She felt bad and rebellious, this feeling, made her want to be even more bad and rebellious. She tiptoed down the same white hall as the night before, making her way to the closet. She saw a light coming from it, her heart pounded so fast, she was skipping beats. She couldn’t wait to see Trevor. She had never been so excited in her life. All her problems left her and she was happy, and normal, just for second, just for one sweet second.
She quickly sprinted across the dark hall and into the closet. It was empty. ‘That’s strange’ she though to herself. She looked around the closet; no one was in it, except herself. Jessica peeked her head out of the door to look around. No one. Her heart fell heavy and sad. ‘Did he blow me off?’ she thought in her head. Jessica began walking back to her room. Her head hung low, not even aware of where she was walking. There were foot steps coming from behind her, but she didn’t notice. Right as she was about to turn a corner, someone grabbed her by the arms and swung her into a room.
Jessica’s body was hurled to the floor. She gasped for breath, she was so shocked she couldn’t speak. She looked up to find Trevor at the door of the room, of which she was thrown into, and locking it.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” asked Jessica furiously. She stood up and whipped her pants off, because she had fallen into some dust.
“I” Trevor began with confidence, “Was savin’ your ass,”
“Like hell you were.” She said walking towards the door.
“Move.” Said Jessica.
“I was.” Trevor fought back.
“There was a nurse walkin’ down the hall behind you, and she almost saw you. Why do you think I didn’t meet you in the closet?” there was silence.
“Well?” he asked again.
“Ok fine, so you saved me, what ever.” Jessica rolled her eyes. Then she looked around.
“Um…Where are we anyway?” she asked again.
“Oh, I call this place psyche.”
“Psyche?” asked Jessica.
“Yah, it used to be an old psyche ward, till’ there was a fire. Now they use it as a storage place. I come here a lot; sometimes I even sneak away in the day sometimes. No one ever looks here. Besides there’s no smoke detectors, so when your lighting a joint, they wouldn’t figure it out.” He laughed a little.
“Ok, I have a question.” Said Jessica, her face glowed with mystery. Her eyes grew big and sexy. She ran her fingers through her hair.
“Yah?” Trevor replied. His left eye brow raised and he let out a grin.
“Why is it that you, are so good at being bad?” her voice was luring and her eyes were transfixed on his.
“I’m so good at being bad”, he started, “Because I know exactly who likes it.” replied Trevor. Jessica laughed and rolled her eyes.
“You need to work on that.” She smiled and looked around the room.
“So where exactly do you keep your….merchandise?” she asked rasing her brow.
“I have a stash over there he pointed to a door, supposedly leading to a closet. Jessica walked near it but didn’t see anything.
“I don’t see it.” She began and turned around. When she did Trevor was right there and he grabbed her. She could feel his moist lips to hers. They were relaxing. She wrapped her arms around his neck and started to walk towards him causing him to fall back a little. Her body was pressed up against his. They fell backwards onto an old bed being stored in room. Jessica almost stopped him because she worried about how old the sheets must have been and what possibly could have been on them, but she didn’t. She was to caught up in the moment, and in the heat. She felt so happy embraced in his arms, so wonderful, and the feeling of his body laying on hers was incredible. When their lips met she felt sparks, the moment was perfect, beautiful, unbreakable. Or was it? Trevor was reaching for the bottom hem of her shirt. His warm arms were near her side, she felt his skin touch hers and then…
Jessica stopped. Her heart which was beating rapidly, stopped. Her eyes, that were only moments before filled with lust, became filled with fear, and seconds later, tears, and then, she let out a cry.
“NO!” screamed Jessica as she ripped from his arms. Trevor lost his balance and his arms for support and stumbled over on the side of the bed.
“Stay away from me! Don’t touch me! Please, NO!” Jessica rushed her body over to the corner of the room. Trevor sat up in confusion. He didn’t understand. He stood up from the bed and started walking towards her.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” his voice was gentle and calm. But it didn’t help. Jessica was already bunched up in a ball, in the corner. She rested her head on her knees, and then her arms she covered her head with.
“Jesse, what is it?” asked Trevor again. Jessica let out a loud sob as she rocked back and forth screaming…
“No! Don’t come any closer. Don’t!” and you could hear terror in her words. Her voice was distressed and her tone jumped from one level to another. The whines and wails made it even harder to her. Trevor bent down beside her. She kept screaming ‘Back off’ and ‘get away’ and ‘don’t you dare come any closer’. But that didn’t stop Trevor. He got down on the floor next to Jessica and put his arm around her back. She jumped sideways and let out an obnoxiously loud scream.
“Hey, don’t worry. It’s ok. It’s just me. It’s Trevor. I’m not guna hurt you. I promise.” His words were so comforting, the almost seemed to calm her. So her wails turned into whines, they grew gentler and more faint. Trevor wrapped his arm around her again. This time Jessica allowed it. She even let her body shift to one side, and she let her head rest on his chest. The steadiness of his heart beats calmed her. She hushed, and nearly passed out in his arms.
