| Doctor Mysterio meets a dolphin | |||
| Doctor Mysterio was handcuffed to a giant frog. It had all happened so fast and unexpectedly. He had been violently dragged into the church only to face a torrent of onslaught from a group of overweight student priests. The inside of the church was very very strange indeed. It was easily the biggest church Doctor Mysterio had ever seen. It held close to three thousand people and today, of all days, was a full house. There were massive flags with pictures of frogs on them which hung from the ceiling like curtains, gently touching the shiny marble floor. The alter was a stage, much like one would expect to see at a rock concert. It had massive twirling lights, a smoke machine and massive speakers that would manage to deafen a def person. The entire town were in the pews, watching as their unwelcome visitor was being held captive on the alter. “This is highly uncalled for!” Doctor Mysterio said as his efforts of escape were made futile by the tight grip of the metal cuff. The frog he was joined to was green. It also appeared to be dead or sleeping. It had massive toes, wore a jewel incrusted crown and was draped in a red gown. It was easily the largest frog Doctor Mysterio had ever seen. A heavy spotlight beamed down onto him and the frog. There was no doubt that they were the main attraction. An eerie silence soothed. The townsfolk silent like children. Then, out of the haze of the smoke, emerged a straight walking priest. The crowd applauded his arrival. “Ladies and gentlemen”, he spoke into the microphone. “We are gathered here today in celebration of Holka” And with that all the people started to chant “Holka, Holka, Holka” as they banged their feet in rhythm. They were definitely a weird group of individuals, they had soulless eyes. Doctor Mysterio was starting to sweat. The priest spoke again. “Today we were blessed with a gift from the heavens, a strange looking visitor, this man here!” he pointed to Doctor Mysterio as he testified on the alter. It was awarded with a backlash of boo’s from the crowd. “This strange looking fellow wrongly trespassed on our town and in consequence will be sacrificed to our master Holka!” The crowd went insane. Doctor Mysterio’s heart ceased to beat; it was quite clear that he was on the receiving end of a cult like sacrifice, and in moments to come, would most definitely be dead. He panicked and squirmed and started to shout “You can’t do this you crazy people! This is inhumane and unjust! I have to find the lone wolf! I have to find the land of constant night! I have to find the lone wolf!” And with that he started to cry. The townspeople took no notice of his plea for life. “And now let me proudly introduce”, spoke the straight standing priest. “Our saviour, our prophet, Ghost Boy!” And with that a ghost boy stepped out of the backroom in a long priests robe. The entire building was alive with cheer. He stood for a moment in the centre of the stage, under the twirling lights, soaking in the admiration. “Children, Children” He silenced them with his loud, boyish voice. The crowd fell silent again. “For five years now I’ve been showing you the light of Holka. Teaching you the importance of frogs and helping you understand the purpose and worth of your life. Together we have built this church, together we will see the truth and together we will witness the mighty Holka in all of his glory!” Ghost boy said as he poked the giant frog with a massive pointy stick. The frog let out a loud monsterly roar as it swung into life. Doctor Mysterio was very scared. He said his final words: “In death, we are rescued from a burning building and placed safely into a pit of fire” He closed his eyes and waited for the frog to eat him. The heat of everything caused him to become very dizzy, and in his dizziness he remembered the years spent training alongside Toro Coloshocul, the famous Russian escape artist. He was now in mid air, only metres away from the frogs tongue. In one last attempt for his life, he managed to effortlessly slide out of the handcuffs and into freedom. He was in fact, very limber. He needed to run away very fast. All the commotion of the beast awakening, the villagers partying like it was 1999 and Ghost boy jumping around on the alter as if possessed by a trampoline, made Doctor Mysterio’s escape effortless. He merely walked out the front door. ‘What a strange experience’ he thought to himself as he walked on, out of the town and up the highest mountain. * He trekked uneventfully for days, roaming wastelands and roads until one morning he came to beach at the bottom of a steep hill, a beach that seemed to be lost between worlds, a beach where many people had died. The smell of expired sand and the fog forced Doctor Mysterio onto the centre of the shore. There he was greeted by an old woman. She held a sign that read she would receipt a poem for a single golden coin. Doctor Mysterio, always eager to hear a good poem, took a single golden coin out of his coat pocket and handed it to the old lady. She immediately spoke in a screechy, high pitched tone: “You give me this coin and for what? So that you may find wisdom in words?! Well I think you should eat the birds. For in this world of greed and time, It is for this coin you commit crime. Pollute the airwaves and drown the sea, in all your curiosity. But don’t regret the fumes you’ve spent, nor bow to God and repent. For it’s far too late to turn the clocks, Or to wash away the concrete blocks. Our time is up, sound the bell, now turn your face, upon hell” She ended by spitting on the ground. Doctor Mysterio walked away. The sand was covered by rocks, which were covered by seaweed. However the surface was smooth. Dark skeleton crabs crawled between the cracked lands, as seagulls soared in the dark grey morning sky like balloons. It was evident to Doctor Mysterio that in order to find the land of constant night he must purchase a map. He looked at his map of map stores and saw that the closest one was situated in the Town of Factories. The Town of Factories was separated from the shoreline by a large pond. He walked to where the waves met the sand. He stood there for a moment. Waves wafting, like miracles amongst the shore. The rippling current of outpouring inundation, cleansing his mud covered toes. He looked farther than he had ever tried to look before. He looked past everything. There, he saw the universe. It was telling him something. What, he did not know. As he stood there against the shore line, a small dolphin popped his head out from under the surface of the water. He immediately locked eyes with Doctor Mysterio. A kin ship was born. “Hello there gloomy friend” The Dolphin managed to say. “I was just spying on you as you were looking for a way across the pond………. Well, I just so happen to be a friendly Dolphin, here to aid your requirements and I would be most grateful to help you on your journey” And with that Doctor Mysterio rode on the friendly dolphins back, all the way to the Town of Factories. | |||
