Sometimes when I’m alone I lay down to dream
I think about my past
like a cryptic clue
nagging in my mind
but i fail to see its message
stairing blankly in my face
The shadows creep up to meet me
circling my head like vultures
Waiting for me to fall asleep,
innocent and vunerable
i see their crule intentions
but fail to understand why
The haunting night obscures my sight
Making me blind
It’s taunting gaze intense
blanketing my soul
Immersed in the dark waiting for day to come.
