Forgotton memories
 
Forgotten and left to fade,
Cracked faces and broken smiles,
Only memories remain.
Small porcelain hands and
Plaster fingers grasp at lingering hope
And hold on tight.
No longer loved,
Cast aside.

Their eyes dull and faint,
Showing no remorse
But only hollow thoughts.
As the dust settles upon their heads
They seem to sigh.
Now only the darkness
Keeps them company.

Patiently they sit,
Some still have their pride
And bravely wait for someone to come,
But they are forgotten
And left to fade.
Tattered and moth-eaten,
Only memories remain.
