	Journey part 2: The Redemption Song I see an opening in the mist The ladder to an alibi, escaping the labyrinth to exist Forgetting the weary wandering and the ways of old Reinvigorating a soul that would-be sold Mistakes in the past - there they'll play On nothing but history and the subterfuge of memories Because three years now pass on an ash covered gasp When pristine coated armour overstepped lines - and into a trap Once again I've means to an end, An end is coming when rewards came instead But instead of the paper and the faded gold Remember yourself - grow with friends as they grow old Sparks fly now, long after the fire They could burn the world down and smoke out a liar I've made a point of what I am This fire burns brightly not forced by your hand Instead of dangling by a knife edge or being stranded at the top I've slipped off, backfired, and regained acclaim on the drop It's not about the podium or the poll position Be transparent, be trustworthy and hold on to your tradition I make no plays on my words, Don't blame me for shooting when a shot wasn't heard I once thought I saw limits that conspired against me Limits are in the distance while my comebacks a plenty I share inside a genuine curiosity; this is there for all to see An honest ambition almost undone by blinding need Once a man amid a boy's shadow, Now a free bird - flown the coup on the gallows Second chance - It's a worthy reprieve Of a once off mindset, where the antidote's the disease Redemption untied the heart strings and the solo sung high I pluck these notes again as this soliloquy becomes a lullaby
