For my parents whom I miss so much that even at 34 I feel orphaned.


When the child sings
The world is awake| alive somehow
And the clouds spread themselves
Across a happy sky

But
In midnight days
Of love and distrust
Chaos exists

Between only flowers
That bloom in death
Do you see the bright
Blackness
That is sadly beautiful?

And still you ask me
How can this be?
This be only nothing more than
The curves of life
This be only nothing less than
The answer
You were seeking

This is the making
Of brown
As a color
That is only
In shades
Of drowning.
