Oreo reassessed his situation. The spiders were definetly real. His memory was not going bad. But he needed to do something to stop the spiders as quickly as he could, or his family could really be gone next time. The jolt of fear he had taken that morning had caused him to see that the vile bugs in the storage room was not only a threat to himself, but a danger to his whole family. Yes, action needed to be taken, as soon as possible.

But what could he do? A small dog like him didn't have any ways to stop the spiders from invading. If only Oreo could talk! Then he'd be able to tell Dad about what was going on in the dark room. Dad would just get a can of Bug-B-Gone, spritz the room a few times, and the spiders would be gone in a twinkling. If only it were that easy. But no, Oreo needed to take care of the spiders himself, using his own talents as a dog.

What talents did Oreo have anyway? He liked to bark, but barking at the spiders didn't have any effect on them. They possessed no fear of him, for they had safety in numbers. Like any other dog, Oreo had a great love of sniffing, but his nose probably wouldn't be much help to him. All he could make out in the dark room was the stench of bugs. Oreo thought for a while longer. He wasn't talented at anything else, except chasing. He delighted in chasing anything that moved.

Eurika! Oreo jumped up. He knew exactly what he would do! All he needed was his incredible chasing skills, and he could get rid of the spiders. Oreo stayed up long into the night, making plans. He would rid the house of the disgusting bugs forever. He would save his family from certain doom.
