| Jimmy was selected to bat at number 4 for this game as he played so well last time. Listonville were sent in to bat first by Lewis Griffen and got a respected 243-7. The opening batsmen for Cliftonville Josh Trunton and Gary Whale stepped to the crease. Before long they were both out and Jones came in at the score being 11-2. Jimmy's new bat was working wonders for him as he hit 30 off 20 balls. Then a thunder strike happened.Jimmy hit the ball high in the air and to his relief the fielder dropped it. The score was now 123-3 and Jones was on 49. He looked to get another fifty when Listonvales bowler bowled a peach of a yorker to remove the stumps of Jones. He was not happy as Cliftonville collapsed to a 73 runs defeat as they were bowled out for 173 off 35 overs. The players looked distraught but had to look out for their next game which was in the second round of the county cup against former runners up Sandown. | |||
