Build Life says: "Congrats to Caoimhe-Miss Christmas in Killarney & thanks2every1else who took part2help us raise money for CF" (3 days ago) me too! | | What is Build4Life | | Build 4 Life is a joint fundraising venture between friends and family of Cystic Fibrosis Patients in Cork and Kerry to assist build a dedicated Cystic Fibrosis unit, the first of its kind in Ireland, in Cork University Hospital. One of the major activities of the Charity has been the building of two houses in the upmarket Clonough development in Castleisland, Co. Kerry, the proceeds from the sale of the houses going towards the fundraising drive.
Over the past two years, the project has lead to people from all walks of life joining forces for a common cause - to fundraise, donate time and products, and generate increased awareness to the plight of CF Patients, not only in the Cork and Kerry area, but throughout Ireland. | | | HOUSES SOLD!!!!!!! | | This week it was announced that both the houses have been sold in record time, thanks to the major awareness campaign, the dedication of the principals involved and people’s willingness to get behind the project in everyway possible.
Joe Browne, who is the tenacious driving force behind the project, stated “The sale of the houses is just the beginning. We still desperately need to continue the work that was started
when the plans were first developed two years ago. Now we have a network of people in both Cork and Kerry who are dedicated to continue the work to build Ireland’s first CF Unit, right on our doorstep, keeping pressure on the powers that be to match any funds that we generate and to allocate space for us at CUH for this vital life saving facility. Joe added “We are celebrating today, but the work continues and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many companies and individuals as well as the developers of Clonough for their generous donations, who provide | | | Who Bought the FIRST HOUSE | | Marian Murphy from Castleisland, who was the first to sign up for one of the dream homes in the exclusive Clonough Development in Castleisland, stated “I have been working in Cork and am now returning home to work in Kerry. With this move I can just move in with my new dream home fully furnished. I just can’t wait to move in.” Marian had more reasons why the property was so attractive to her. “I have been watching the progress of the houses for the past two years and know what a labour of love this has been to everyone involved. With such good will around the Build 4 Life houses I know that it will be a very happy home for me.” CF is also a cause very close to her heart as Marian has known three people who lost their lives to the disease. “Not only am I buying my dream home, but I am doing my little bit to ensure that people with CF
can have a much better quality of life through the facilities Build 4 Life continue to work for.” | | | How can YOU help | | Further information on Cystic Fibrosis and how you could help this worthy cause please call (021) 4273000 (Mon to Fri 9.30am – 5.30pm – Phones kindly manned by Mardyke Entertainment Complex) or afterhours call (086) 386 3949.
