MIVEC varies the lift of valves by using two different camshaft profiles. It is similar to Honda's VTEC system • TURBOCHARGER A turbocharger is a compressor used in internal-combustion engines to increase the power output of the engine by increasing the mass of oxygen and fuel entering the engine. A key advantage of turbochargers is that they offer a considerable increase in engine power with only a slight increase in weight. • D.O.H.C double overhead camshaft--a DOHO engine has two camshafts in each cylinder head; one camshaft operates the intake valves, the other actuates the exhaust valves.
