Another week another show and the countdown to Rhythms Of The World has begun! Its only 2 weeks until Rhythms and from what I can make out the weather is supposed to be good; the sun’s going to be shining with clear blue skies! So we’ll see you down there…all ticket information is on the Rhythms Of The World website, www.rotw.org.uk!

On with the show…

New Device played live this week and they performed two songs, ‘Make My Day’ and ‘Taking Over’! They also recorded another bonus track for the website so make sure you check that out! They have been together since about 2007 but the current line-up has been around for about a year. They are soon going to be working on their second album which they are really looking forward to writing. They also have a single out, ‘Takin’ Over’ which is downloadable from all reputable downloading sites and their album is coming out on 20th July. They are playing Hard Rock Hell this year and have loads of other gigs coming up so make sure you keep up to date! There is also going to be a video about after the album launch and the possibility of a second single being out around Christmas! Find out more about new Device at www.myspace.com/newdevice!

Band on a bike continued this week with New Device competing in the crazy tricycle race!! They got a time of 47.66 sec – quite slow, one of the slowest we’ve had in fact! What will happen next week?

The first guest in the studio was Kev Saunders from Westmill Farm Festival! This is the second year of the festival and they are hoping it will be as brilliant as last year! The Black Tricks are joined by Zarith (who has just come off the Beyonce tour), Cooper and Eddie And The Hotrots. There are also tribute acts the Kaiser Thiefs and Blurb. Ticket information is all on the website. If you want to find out more, check out www.westmillfarmfestival.co.uk

Ryan from Dunstable Battle Of The Bands spoke to Gareth about the upcoming final which is being held at The Grove Theatre in Dunstable! The competition has been going since April and there is a semi final place and a play off place left for the final. You can get tickets from the Grove Theatre or from www.dunstablebob.co.uk and they are £10. Already in the final are Dirty Money, Dirty Joker Music and In Remission. Adam from Bandangos was on the phone preparing for a gig for the organiser of Rhythms Of The World and Club 85, Bob Mardon’s birthday. It was all happening at Club 85 in Hitchin and playing were Camera Club, RoadRunner and headlining were Boom In The Diamond Industry. Of course our very own Gareth Lloyd was the host of the evening and he went down to offer his services!

In the studio were Little Villeins who have a brand new EP coming out soon. It was recorded at the Unsigned Studio in St Albans so it all stayed nice and local! As for gigs they are playing in Camden and are hoping to lease with the good people at the SnoBar to get some good dates to play in MK. To find out more check out www.myspace.com/littlevilleinsmusic

Next up were Me And The Beast who used the uploader! The band are from Wooban Green in Bucks. At the moment they are writing and recording a lot and are currently filming a new project called the Friday night session where they show fans how they make their music. They are also playing at our Dunstable Downs gig at the end of August. Find out more about Me And The Beast at www.meandthebeast.com

Betaboy popped in to reminisce about drunken past times and to talk about the new recordings they have produced. The track they bought with them to the studio is so new they haven’t even played it live! They played a charity gig at the weekend so its nice to know they’re good lads (what can you expect from fellow ex-Redborners!) To find out more about the band check out www.myspace.com/betaboy

Kel travelled to The Hat Factory in Luton. For 7 days the Week Of Arts is taking place which involves live music, poetry, dance and theatre. There is no charge to get in, only donations so give generously people! It is running until Friday 26th June! He then spoke to Amy and Jack a local band who like to dress the male members of their band in a dress and bunny ears. To find out more about Amy and Jack check out www.myspace.com/amyandjack2

This week we had music from The Black Tricks (www.myspace.com/theblacktricks), Tonight Is Goodbye (www.myspace.com/tonightisgoodbye), Dimblybe And Capper (sent from Huw Stephens), Little Villeins (www.myspace.com/littlevilleinsmusic) and Me And The Beast (www.myspace.com/meandthebeast)

If for some strange reason you missed the show or you simply want to hear Gareth’s voice for a second time, you can listen to the show again by clicking on the ‘Listen Again’ button on the website.

Tune in next week to find out the latest time for Band On A Bike, where Kel is on his travels, all the gigs in the local area, who’s playing a live set in the Introducing room and what crazy things will be happening in the studio!
