Search for the Co-Presenter FAQ188 giorni fa

What is Beat?

Beat is the new home of music on Bebo. We’ll be providing daily videos, presented by Ben Chancellor, including big name interviews, gig reviews and exclusive live performances from the Beat studios. One of our regular features will be the Search for the Co-Presenter.

What is the Search for the Co-Presenter?

During the course of the show, we’ll be featuring one lucky Bebo user a week as Ben’s co-presenter. They’ll be given an assignment by the Beat team – it could be anything from gig reports to CD reviews – which will be featured in the weekly Beat round-up show on Friday.

How do I audition?

Simply upload a video to the module at the top left of the Beat page. Click the “upload a video” link, and you’ll be taken to the Motionbox upload tool – the same thing you see when you upload a video to your profile. As usual, videos can be no longer than 10 minutes long or 100MB file size (and must comply with Motionbox’s term of use, Beat Upload Terms and Conditions and Bebo Terms of Service), but other than that anything goes!

What should I do in my video?

That’s up to you – we want you to be as creative as possible! You can talk about your favourite artist, or about someone you really don’t like. You can be funny, or you can be serious. You can do something as simple as a gig review into your webcam, or a full on song and dance act. It doesn’t even have to be music-related – we’re looking for someone with personality and star quality.

Are there any rules?

A couple of important ones. Firstly, do not use ANY copyrighted music in your video. That means any music that you’ve got from CDs/iTunes/online etc. If you’ve written any music yourself, by all means play that, but nothing from your favourite bands please. This also means that if you’re reviewing a gig don’t hold up your mobile phone to record live music or pictures from it! Just talk about it afterwards please.

Similarly, don’t use any copyrighted pictures – only ones that you’ve taken yourself. Try and avoid showing logos and corporate symbols – no big Nike swooshes or Apple stickers, etc.

The rest are just common sense – don’t be needlessly offensive, racist, homophobic, obscene, or anything like that. No nudity, violence, sex, drugs or swearing please. Don’t show yourself doing anything illegal and don’t spread lies about people or companies.

Also, you need to be at least 16 years old to be a co-presenter. If you’re under 18, you need to get consent from a parent or guardian. We will provide a letter for them to sign which we will send to you, should you be chosen as a co-presenter.

If you aren’t old enough or you break any of these rules, your video will not be approved and uploaded and you’ll be disqualified from the competition. So there! If you’re not sure, e-mail beathelp@endemoluk.com to check before you upload.

Where will my audition video appear?

If your audition video plays by the rules and we like it, we’ll approve it to appear on the page in the co-presenter module. This doesn’t mean you’ve won the chance to be the co-presenter - it just means we like your audition video and think other people should have the chance to see it.

How will the winner be chosen?

Every week, the Beat team will look through all the videos approved and uploaded to the co-presenter module from the previous seven days, and pick our favourite. We’ll let you all know when we’ve made our decision, and then contact the co-presenter directly to arrange the next steps. Due to the volume of entries unfortunately we cannot contact you if we decide not to use your video, or if you have not been chosen to be a co-presenter.

Please note that if you are chosen as the winner and you agree to go and film another video, any video you then upload will be treated in the same way as your audition video, and subject to the Beat Upload Terms and Conditions and Bebo Terms of Service.

Can I enter more than once?

Yes, feel free to upload as many videos you want during the week. And if you’re not picked, you can always try again the following week.

What are the Terms and Conditions?
