| Soooo... how've you been?? | 846 days ago | ||
Time for a real blog I think. It's been a while, sorry.So I just worked my last shift before I go to AUSTRALIA BABY!! Sooooo excited! I'm going for my best good friend Michelle's wedding in Brisbane, and then over to see my family and friends in Perth. As usual I am disorganised right up to the last kick. I still need to: get all my pictures off of my camera so I have room for more (look out Bebo!); attend the beauty salon for an "appointment"; get some last minute things to take; wrap the wedding gift; PACK!; and make my husband a tray of lasagne to keep him nourished while I'm away! ...Oh yeah, and as MY TOOTH FELL APART AT WORK TODAY, I need to find a dentist who will give me an emergency appointment tomorrow and not be too mean to me for not going to the dentist for 10 years! Woopsy Please pray for me as I go on this trip. The whole thing (aside from getting a good deal on my tickets) has been plagued with little gremlins since the beginning. Luckily I've been quite organised with some things in time to put them right. I went to pick up my Australian dollars, and they weren't at the bank, so we had to be reimbursed and order them again. And I took out an annual worldwide travel insurance policy and the documents never arrived, despite asking for them twice. So now, with just over a day to go, I've had to get my money back from them and take out a new policy with someone else, but as there's a postal strike on tomorrow, I don't know if I'll get them in time. They said they'd email them to me, and that hasn't happened either . PLEASE pray. Satan always has to have a little nudge at times of Joy!In other news, my new job is going well. That's me been on the ward for 7 weeks now. It's taking some time to find my feet and really feel like I know what I'm doing, but I finally feel like I'm getting there (right before I take 3 weeks off 2 go globe-trotting ) and I'm really enjoying it. It's been quite busy, as we lost 2 good members of staff recently, and we're sort of struggling to keep up with the workload. But they're interviewing to fill the positions this week so we should be back on track fairly soon.Some of you may have heard already, but Mike and I are coming home for Thanksgiving!!! More excitement and globe-trotting. Woohoo! We got a super sweet deal on flights that we just couldn't pass up. Mike was getting home sick, and I was getting America sick, so we decided we just had to do it for our sanity. Will be great to catch up with family and meet some of Mike's extended family and friends while we're around. We arrive into Chicago on November 19th, and leave on December 3rd. We'll be moving around a lot, so make your appointment with the LaBerge's now! Lol.So that's about it from here. Oh, Kitten News: the girls are now 8 months old, but I won't bore you with more pictures of them... for now . Dora looks almost fully grown, but Socks is still quite petite. They do say black is very slimming! Lol. We need to find a nice, kind person to look in on them and let them out from time to time while we're away. I'll miss them like crazy! They're my babies. And that's definitely it! Please pray for my trip. Safe journey. Easy connections. Baggage getting there WITH me. And a blessed day for Michelle and Jake. Thank yoooooou. Over and out! | |||
