	In a ten point plan nearly two years ago Lobby group Wicklow Against Suicide W.A.S called for a 24 Hour Helpline and since then have rigoriously campaigned for such a service are now delighted to announce one has been launched. Given the fact Ireland has one of the highest Youth Suicide Rates in Europe Youth Officer of Wicklow Aganst Suicide and co-founder Mr. Wayne Flanagan Tobin said : "This marks a great social moment when the needs of the most vulnerable in our Society are finally being met. I am very proud to be part of a movement which has continued to make progress in its campaigns" Chairman John Curran noted: "There will be a team of professional councillors and trained volunteers 24 hours a day 7 days a week contactable at 1800 247 100" Wicklow based RTE 2FM DJ Nikki Hayes who has constantly pushed this issue up the agenda atmeetings said: " Such a service was badly needed and its great to get this positive news for our group , county and nation" Group member Paul Leahy said: "Another bonus is the fact the service is free of charge" ENDS 25/10/09 Further information 085 765 93 47

	Thats great its about time something like that was made public that number should be plastered everywhere cus its amazin wat a few right words at the right time can do fair do's nikki

	It's sad hearing about people commiting suicide This though could help and could save people from doing that and thats what they need some professional councillors to talk to so fair play nikki for getting involved

	Its great ta have somethin like this for YOUNG ppl can get advice. A mate a mine died from suicide and i just wish that ther Wuz somethin like this around 2years ago. :-( well fun nikkii xx
