	Why is it that an instrument of torture and execution is the most common and recognisable symbol of the Christian faith? Why is the cross at the heart of the Christian faith? Christians believe this is because of love... The Problem So, we have all done wrong. And the Bible and Jesus call this sin. What is sin? Christians believe that the target of life is to live a life perfectly pleasing to God. Sin is when this target is not reached. In other words we may choose to do what we want rather than what is right. Check Out Romans Chapter 3 v 23 What's the worst thing you've ever done? Any funny stories? (if so leave us a comment!) The Solution By dying on the cross, Jesus took our place and suffered the results of our sin. He took care of the results of sin once and for all. Check Out 1 Peter 2:24 Do you think that was a good solution? Why? The Result God has made a way for the results of our sin to be dealt with and for us to enter into a relationship with Him. If we believe that Jesus suffered on the cross for us and if we say sorry for the things that we have done wrong (our sins) we can know God. Check Out Romans chapter 3 verse 21-26 Things to think about... Is the word 'sin' too old fashioned and out of date for us to use today? What would you say if you had to explain it to someone?
