The London International Music Show (LIMS) and Music For Youth (who organise a nationwide series of festivals and concerts) can now announce the amazing BiG GiG concert, featuring up to a thousand piece band and a hundreds of young voices.

The BiG GiG will play a specially commissioned music piece written by the respected composer and workshop leader Tim Steiner. This will be a world premiere, bringing together not only thousands of musicians but combining a wide and diverse range of instruments, as all are welcome to bring along something to play. Commenting on his composition, Tim said “the Lims Anthem is one big groove, designed to use the combined forces of many players and is built on a 4 bar bass line with 4 chords and big harmony guitar riffs. The piece has been written to allow a huge range of instruments to play together from Sitar’s to Iphones right through to Djembe’s and trumpets. “

Tim will be conducting and will bring in different sections of the band to play at different times. All the parts work together so as the music unfolds, the listener hears a vast range of orchestration and parts. The finale will bring all musicians and singers together in a true massed performance to create a unique experience for everyone involved.

Music For Youth have a long history of inspiring young musicians and the BiG Gig is an unique opportunity, bringing together thousands of primary, secondary, college and university students, together with their teachers, to play the LIMS anthem.

The BiG GiG is part of the UK's greatest festival of music learning on June 12th, called MFY Friday. Thousands of students and teachers are expected to come together for a fantastic day out to find out about everything related to music. The event is part of The London International Music Show, The UK’s biggest and music exhibition running from 11th June through 14th June at ExCeL Docklands.

Tickets for the LIMS education day are priced at £5 each for students in a group, accompanied by teachers. For further information on the show, ticket information and latest updates see www.londoninternationalmusicshow.com
