Originally Automatic Audio, a piano-rock band, The Corleones has had various changes to its line up and mainly due to a large disagreement over genre, the band split. Toni Malyn intended to go solo, but was approached by Michael Forrest, another guitarist, while on a school holiday to London. Malyn, after working solo for a while, decided that he would help form a band, but refused to work without former Automatic Audio member Steven Hannigan by his side. The trip to London proved fruitful for the band after finding drummer Conor Rooney. The band had rehearsed a few times before they realised that their music needed something at the bottom end to make their sound fuller, it seemed only right at this point to bring in bassist, Ryan Doherty, a friend of the band, to play. After their first rehearsal as a five piece Malyn assumed the role of lead vocals and guitar. For a while, the band stayed in the studio mainly working on a variety of original material that came together as a result of Malyn’s alt rock influences and Hannigan’s piano based and punk rock influences. Recently; disagreements within the band caused all production to come to a halt; and it was clear that the band was strongly split down the middle with views. Unfortunately, as a result of this the corleones lost two of its members. Michael Forrest(Guitar) and Conor Rooney(Drums). The band have recently brought in David Vance, a friend of Toni's , to play drums for the band. The New line-up now consists of 3 original members; Toni Malyn - Vocals, Guitar Ryan Doherty - Bass, Vocals Steven Hannigan - Piano, Synth, Vocals David Vance - Drums Now as a complete four piece; the band's sound has matured, and has became a lot more melodic as a result of a completely new set list, which the band have begun rehearsing in the studio, and hope to release on their debut record in late 2010. After, a resume of successful gig's under their belt, the corleones' fanbase is beginning to expand, and have recently headlined the Barrowlands 2 in Glasgow, to a heavily packed venue of screaming fans. | |||
