BLUE™ Ambassadors communicate their passion for the environment through their chosen sports. Their commitment to be part of the BLUE™ Project enables you to follow their progress and hopefully become inspired to be more active in reducing your effect on the environment.- Surfer Ben Skinner (GB): British & European Longboard Champion and World no.2, the only surfer in the history of English competition to win the Junior and Open Longboard titles back to back. BLUE™ will follow Ben's progress as he competes to raise awareness through his sport of the need to protect our climate and oceans. - 180 degree Polar Expedition team Rob Guantlett and James Hooper (GB): Started a mammoth voyage in Feb 2008 to travel from the South Pole to the North Pole using only environmentally friendly modes of transport. James and Rob have been helping to communicate environmental messages around the globe during their epic adventure. - Kite surfer Jose Leungo (SP): Three times World Kitesurf-Wave Champion, Jose has learnt to respect the beauty and power of the ocean, and now aims to show others how they too can enjoy and protect our climate and oceans. - Freediver Sara Campbell (GB): Sport phenomenon and Three times Women’s World Record holder, Sara joined the BLUE™ Project as a sporting ambassador because she wanted to show people through the stunning imagery of her freediving the great beauty of our oceans. - Snowboarder Dan Wakeham (GB): UK’s number 1, only GB Olympian (2004),has been fortunate to compete in some of the most beautiful locations around the world and hopes that through his sport, he can encourage others to think about the environment when going about daily life. - Swimmer & Actor Stephen Hunt (AUS): UN ambassador and ocean swimming champion (world record holder of Gibraltar straits & English Channel) has plans to swim the stretch of water between New Zealand's, North and South Islands, followed by the Bass Strait. - Hello Moto Skipper Conrad Humphreys (GB): Triple round the world sailor and hero of the 2004/5 Vendee Globe,founded the BLUE™ Project because of his passion for the oceans and his belief that all sportsmen and women who compete with the environment can inspire others to want to protect it. - Solo Ocean Rower Roz Savage (GB): Solo rowed the Atlantic in 2005, a 103 day voyage, currently rowing the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Hawaii, aiming to raise awareness of the growing problem of plastic debris polluting our world's oceans. - Sailor, and skipper of ROXY, Sam Davies (GB): Vendée Globe 2008 qualifier and Artemis Transat 2008 contender, Sam hopes her participation in ocean sailing will help to encourage others to want to care about the environment. - Ocean Adventurer Anne Quéméré (FR): Has rowed and kite-surfed across the Atlantic three times! This year she plans to tackle the Pacific Ocean, and by demonstrating travel powered by natural energy through wind and wave action, Anne aims to promote further development into renewable energy sources. | |||
