Hi Gap Fans! The travellers have just left Hong Kong after a brief refuel and are now on the final leg of their journey to New Zealand. Our spies on the other side shared this info with Gap Year HQ: Emma lost her boarding pass TWICE in 40 minutes and had to have it re-issued both times. Kim left her laptop in the toilets TWICE and then again on the seats in the departure lounge. It was returned to her by airline staff as she was boarding the plane. Emma thought she'd lost her passport but luckily Kim had it. ALL travellers apart from Antonio nearly missed the flight because they were too busy using the Internet. Emma had this to share: "right. im currently in hong kong. a bit surreal if im honest... but still amazing. i am incredibly tired, we have already been traveling for 16 hours. you know when you just want to sleep in a nice cosy fresh sheeted bed, but instead im stuck in the middle seat trying to sleep in an contorted s shape. not good. chris and i were tempted to goi for massages, but they were like 25 pounds(!?) each and the intimidating looking man was beckoning us in... honestly not that appealling... i CANNOT WAIT to get to new zealand finally. sorry i keep going on about it but i just seems so real now... got so excited when we took off. the rumble of the plane and everything. i actually miss everyone quite a bit!? but i think its becuase we arnt completely stuck into all the challenges yet. holly and i have our suspisions that we are going to have to do some intense challenge, jet lagged off the plane. BRING IT ON. i worried i havent packed well at all, (havent brought trainers!?) complete denial that ill probably need them quite a lot. it just so strange going and not knowing what you are going to be doing day to day!!? all adds to the excitment. speak to you all soon!! in the mean time... i know i keep saying it and it must annoy you all so so so much.... but keep supporting me and writing to the group. its nice to get support and it honestly makes me so much more motivated to get the upmost out of this trip." All this and they're not even in NZ yet! It's going to be an interesting trip... HQ | |||
