| Aberdeen Anarchy 4 REVIEW | 38 Tage her | ||
Wrestlezone returned to Aberdeen for what was sure to be an inspiring night of top wrestling action - topped off by the biggest match in Wrestlezone history!!!The bout between Scotty Swift and Lionheart caught the imagination of the 200-strong audience who had turned up to ‘Aberdeen Anarchy IV’ at the city’s Northern Hotel. Could Scotty finally prove to Lionheart that he is the best or would Lionheart achieve his goal and win Wrestlezone’s top prize? All would soon become very clear…. No Limits Championship : Jason Rotanda (champion) Vs. Andy Wild Opening up the show was this battle of the powerhouses as Rotanda looked to extend his four-month reign over a man making his Aberdeen debut; one of Scotland’s hottest up-and-comers, Andy Wild. In the opening stages, it was clear Wild’s reputation has been well-earned as he put on a wrestling clinic against Rotanda, who became increasingly frustrated at his antics. Rotanda, you might have guessed, resorted to cheating his way to victory, but it was evident he had a fight on his hands. Despite hitting him with power move after power move, Wild kept firing back. In the end, the finish to this one was tight, and it took a finger to the eye from Rotanda to edge out the advantage, as he hit his signature Alabama Slam for the three-count!!! It was a good, if unsuccessful debut in Wrestlezone for Wild, but I’m sure Rotanda will be relieved he escaped “Aberdeen Anarchy IV” with his belt intact. J Hazard Vs. Dave Malice It was then time for hometown favourite J Hazard to grace the Northern Hotel - and he looked like he had the time of his life in front of the boisterous Aberdeen fans. The fans love to hate his opponent, Dave Malice, and that was evident by the mammoth cheer that Hazard received after hitting a Flying Elbow Drop which gained him the three-count. Malice’s luck continues to be out in Aberdeen, but for Hazard this was another return to form in the Granite City!!! Wrestlezone Tag Team Championships Sterling Oil (champions) Vs. Damien & Mikey Morris The big rematch from Aberdeen Anarchy III saw the tag titles on the line, with Damien & Mikey looking to regain the belts they lost three months ago. Ever since then, Oil have dodged the high-flying dynamic duo, but there was no escape as Damien and Mikey opened up with a flurry of offence. For Sterling Oil, old habits die hard and they once again resorted to desperate measures to try and retain the championships. They isolated Mikey and went to work on him, but the resilience of “The Prodigy” allowed him to summon up the strength to make the tag to his partner. The momentum swung and Damien and Mikey seemed on an inevitable path to victory. However, then the unthinkable happened… Out of nowhere, Damien super kicked the teeth out of his tag team partner, Mikey Morris. There was no explanation as the crowd was stunned into silence. Damien left the ring and watched as Sterling Oil beat the hell out of his ‘partner‘. But Damien was unmoved. An Oil Crash later and it was all over - Sterling Oil remained the champions. However, that was not the real story here… Damien’s unthinking betrayal of Mikey had the crowd in anger. Never fear Aberdeen, because Mikey Morris will get his chance for revenge, as Wrestlezone management quickly signed up a grudge match for our next show. On December 11th, it will be Damien Vs. Mikey Morris, the battle of former tag team champions, in what will be nothing short of a war. Bingo Balance Vs. “Tenacious” Johnny Lions It was announced that the winner of this match would be named the number one contender to the Heavyweight Championship, and with so much on the line, these two put everything they had into winning that spot. Balance was clearly the crowd-favourite as he dazzled his opponent with some innovative high-flying action which looked like it would gain him the win. However, Balance came crashing down to earth, with a big bang, as Lions used all his experience to ground him. The action went back-and-forward and both men had chances to win. Just as it looked Balance was primed for victory, the ever-conniving Lions snuck one, as he hit the backslide and with his feet on the ropes gained a three-count!!! Balance complained but the referee’s decision stands and on December 11th at the Summerhill Hotel, Lions will challenge for the Wrestlezone Heavyweight Championship. “Diehard” Iain Morris Vs. Crusher Craib The next man to try and topple the giant knew he had a tough fight on his hands against the undefeated Crusher Craib. All eyes were focused on the ring as the athletic Morris tried to do what no-one else has done, and beat Craib. Morris stuck to his A-Game and used all he knew to try and gain some success against the monster. Every time that it looked like Morris was rolling, Crusher would battle back. But with every passing moment, the possibility that Morris would get the job done became more evident. As the momentum built, for the first time we witnessed Crusher Craib use desperate measures in the form of a steel chair. However, his plan backfired as Morris moved and Craib was left tasting the steel chair. Morris looked to capitalize and kicked the chair in his face. Could Morris do the unthinkable and topple the giant??? Then the bell rang and it became apparent that Morris was not going to beat the monster. Because he had deliberately kicked the chair, the referee had no option but to disqualify Morris and declare Crusher Craib the winner!!! Morris was gutted and coming so-close to beating the monster. This is the closest anyone has ever come against Crusher Craib, and I’m sure there will be another battle between these two…. Wrestlezone Heavyweight Championship Scotty Swift (champion) Vs. Lionheart The match the whole of Aberdeen had been waiting for; there was a real Main Event feel for this one. Both men battled hard for an advantage in this one, with Scotty relying on his hometown fans in times of need, while Lionheart summoned up all his heart to battle back against Swift. The battle swung back-and-forward and both men looked like they had the win, only for the other man to come right back. It was a real battle of the bulls until Lionheart struck the advantage by hitting his signature Urinagi. Scotty’s heart would not let him go down as he sensationally kicked out. A second Urinagi and surely it was over. One, two… and Scotty kicked out again. Surely he couldn’t battle back??? Scotty tried valiantly, but Lionheart had things in control and hit a third Urinagi. Wanting to make sure of the win, he climbed to the top and hit a picture-perfect Frogsplash. A three-count later and Aberdeen witnessed the crowning of a new Wrestlezone Heavyweight Champion. Scotty Swift’s nine-month reign came to an end as Lionheart proved himself to be the best in the company. After the match, the celebration began, and both men were very complimentary of each other. Lionheart said that tonight Scotty might not have been the better wrestler, but one day he will be. As the new champion began to address the Aberdeen fans, he was jumped by the No.1 contender Johnny Lions, obviously looking to gain an advantage ahead of December 11th. Scotty returned to the ring to help out Lionheart and Lions was forced to retreat to the back. Lionheart was a bit dizzy - but he accepted Lions challenge for the title match on December 11th at the Summerhill Hotel, which will mark his first defence of the Heavyweight Championship. We hope to see you there when Wrestlezone return to the Granite City for another night of top wrestling action…

I'm pissed I wan't able to be there. I really wanted to see the Lionheart/Swift blowoff and the rematch that (for me) stole the show the first time between Bingo and Johnny Lions. I just hope I can make it to the SummerHill hotel show.
