FLUX (Dirty Dub/Rhythmethod 2009) First of all, massive BIG UPS to all the producers who feature on FLUX. It was an awesome buzz hearing which direction each producer took their selected track, and I’m super stoked with the final mix, its pumping! The biggest challenge was compiling this monster and working out which remix would sit well with the next. I wanted FLUX to be similar to my DJ shows, to have that same energy and excitement, the kind of record you would put on to fire you up! FLUX goes from dubstep to breaks, drum n bass to reggae, and finishes with a gorgeous re-rub of 'Past Present Future' by legends Pitch Black. The record starts with the controversial mix of 'David Lange You Da Bomb', in which I use parts of his incredible 1985 Oxford debate. Described as the highest point of his political career, David Lange blazes his opposition with some killa quotes, leaving them stunned and speechless. If you have a spare 6 minutes then you gotta check this piece of legendary footage here FLUX to me means movement and change, liquid and flow. I wanted to release a remix album that embodied all those elements, but most of all make something kick ass for all the dub soldiers who have supported my live shows - who turn up thru rain and snow, I’m truly grateful. Thanks to everyone involved in the making of this record, without your support, guidance and talent, FLUX would not exist! Blessings & praises, see you on the dance floor! - TIKI | |||
