Take one of the cheesiest-yet-enjoyable bands of the 1980's (Journey), bring them to an empty shipyard, have them play invisible instruments and lip-synch the hell out of their best song, throw in some ridiculous slow-motion closeups and multi-picture edits, and have a hot girl with a bad haircut walking around for no reason whatsoever. And if that's not enough, lead singer Steve Perry gives one of the greatest performances of the last 35 years -- he throws himself into this thing like DeNiro or Pacino. It's incredible. Everything about this kills me. If somebody gave me five minutes to sum up the '80s, I would simply show them this video. (By the way, I mailed this to my friend Geoff a few weeks ago because his high school prom date looked a little like Steve Perry. He emailed me a few days later just to say that he'd watched the video 12 times and was about to go back for thirteenths. It's THAT good.)

	i laughed soooooo hard a bit of ick came out. i love love LOVE the white stilettoes/10 denier black tights from an old lady shop combo! i bet i could kick journey's asses at playing invisible instruments. it'd be like the empress's new concert grand! someday... sigh. note: still unable to do smiley face crap. but i can give the finger. ..I.. oh look ..II.
