	On Friday 7th September, Hidden Shoal artists Beautiful Lunar Landscape and Colour Kane met in Bordeaux France for the launch party of Beautiful Lunar Landscape's EP and accompanying video, 'Alone in this Dark Romantic Night'. http://agora.hiddenshoal.com/index.p... The night took place in the legendary El Inca venue, which has been home to many an intimate and landmark gig in the city over the past few years. The Belgian group Colour Kane opened their dream-pop drenched set with a confidence and musical awareness that enveloped the French public and cocooned them in the atmospheric stone venue. The visuals used by the group added a strong identity to the music that allowed us to fully appreciate the sense behind the music and the delicate nature of the arrangements. Swirling through coloured vortexes, bursting through brilliant blue bubbles, the group eased through their set with a calmness that left the crowd with a taste for more. Beautiful Lunar Landscape then premiered their new video for 'Alone in this Dark Romantic Night', directed by Swede, Jimmy Olsson. As the crowd sat down so that everyone could see, the mixture of expectation and slight technical problems led to the video being rapturously received when it was finally shown. The black and white video, set largely in the old St Pierre quarter of Bordeaux was said to have been shown in the perfect setting in what used to be a cellar where wine merchants stored their barrels in the 18th and 19th centuries. The group went on to play the songs from the recently released EP, alongside a collection of new songs that are to be recorded later in the year. The heady mixture of effects, vocals and strong rhythmical drive along with the increasing heat and smoke in the cavern gave a distinctly dream-like fuzz to the set that continued late into the night. After breaking the curfew by an hour and twenty minutes, the set came to an end with two new songs that penetrated the room with intense crescendos, breaks and carefully crafted musicianship. Afterwards, outside, as the crowd filtered out, the bar kept on pouring out the wine, beer and cocktails as the venue continued to reverberate with the echoes of a night that won't be forgotten for a long while.
