"But you don't really care for music do ya?"

The Rotterdam Bar's Situation...593 jours il y a

As many of you will already be aware, following extended disputes with the landlords over their interference in our business practices, the Rotterdam Bar and Pat's Bar ceased trading on Saturday last.

Control of the bars have now been handed back to Mr. Arthur Mooney, a Belfast hotelier and property developer who intends to demolish both of the buildings the minute he has all the relevant planning permissions in place.

We would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone who has supported our efforts to keep the Rotterdam music scene up to the standard that we achieved in the last ten months. Especially the musicians both established and beginners. Believe me when I say that we did our utmost to offer them all the hospitality and respect that they deserve and we wish them all the best in their futures. We also give heartfelt thanks to the staff who kept the engines running and the fire burning, sometimes against all the odds (anyone wanna go down the sewers?!!). But it would never have gotten off the ground without the support of the public, regulars and otherwise, who were the lifeblood of our business.

I have to point out that Mooney & co will now manage the businesses themselves, so the profit from every pint you purchase in these pubs from now on will go straight into the pockets of those who cannot wait to see these historic Sailortown premises demolished.

We do intend to return with the same ethos, maybe not to Sailortown, but possibly not too far away. Watch this space....!

THE ANDY McKEE GIG ON MONDAY 5th MAY WILL BE RELOCATED TO ANOTHER VENUE (DETAILS TOMORROW). ALL OTHER SHOWS ARE CANCELLED.
IF YOU HOLD TICKETS FOR ANY FORTHCOMING EVENTS, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH VIA MYSPACE AND WE WILL ARRANGE A REFUND.
