As ever, The Go! Team are in the middle of traversing the world but have taken the time out to make a new recording of the song Milk Crisis, sung in Japanese and English by Kaori with backup from Ninja and the Double Dutch Divas. And to coincide with their UK festival appearances on the mainstage at Latitude and a headline slot at Lovebox, they’ve decided to give the track away free from www.thegoteam.co.uk from 21 July, along with a rather delicious video for the track, plus various other goodies, including rare remixes (eg Cornelius’s remix of Universal Speech) and films. Apparently this internet computery download thing is going to change the way the music industry works. We’ll see, we’ll see.

In other news its guitarist/drummer Sam Dook’s turn to work with legendary bassman Mike Watt (of The Minutemen and The Stooges), recording in Brighton in June. Sam’s being busy – he’s also made an EP with gameboy music terrorist DJ Scotch Egg under the name Samethings. The Go! Team have found time to knock up a song using field recordings from the Babongo tribe from the Gabon for Bruce Parry of ace TV show Tribe's upcoming musical charity project in support of a charity called "Survival International" alongside such luminaries as Hot Chip, KT Tunstall and Yusuf Islam. The band are also soundtracking the summer season of the Cartoon Network in the US of A with said Milk Crisis track.

And of course, summer 08 sees The Go! Team hitting up festival after festival from St Petersburg to Seoul to Sao Paulo as well as a co-headlining tour of the US and Canada with like minded Brazilian’s CSS which should be just about the most entertaining pairing of the year. Once all that’s over the band will start recording album 3 in September.
