Rest In Peace!634 days ago

A acquaintance of mine passed away quite recently, and while we weren't particularly close at all, it has gotten me to thinking about a few things. Alex was certainly a positive person, who's outlook on life can only be described as different.

Alex was given a choice a few weeks back when his transplant didn't take. Take the approximately 2 weeks to live, or try dialysis an extra surgery, as he has been doing most of his life.

Alex, perhaps often people didn't "get" you, you were an enthusiastic person, just trying to relate to a world that worked differently to you. While most people your age were dealing with how to wear their hair, you were making life & death decisions.

I didn't really get a chance to say goodbye, and perhaps it wasn't my place - we barely knew each other, and I guess your last days really were a time for you to share with those truly close to you.

You made a brave choice, and that I can respect. Your outlook on life was certainly a positive one, and you learned lessons about what's important to people that I struggle to grasp myself at times.

Thank you for making me challenging how I think, and for being the person that you were.

For those of you that are reading this and didn't know Alex, the video "meaning of life" is made by him.
