	Tonight (Sunday) is a sad night. Gerry's remains were taken to chapel to lie overnight in preparation for his requiem mass tomorrow (Monday). A sense of disbelief continues to surround these events and I personally find difficulty in coming to terms with Gerry's passing. As the family gathered it was obvious how many were missing, not because they did not turn up, but because they could not do so as they themselves had passd on. Those who are left suddenly look older than I remembered and it brings home the fraility of life itself. As they say life goes on and so it does, but as each day passes that life becomes a little less for those left behind. We have our memories, but memories fade with time, it is the love for each other that remains with us and keeps us going. Sadly I will not be able to join the family tomorrow, but I will at the appropriate time rember a life well lived. Rest in peace dear friend.
