Even in our rushed schedule of touring you will still find us listening to many hours of old radio shows that we have saved on our iPods. The joy in this art form is truly intoxicating! We thought we would try to capture that joy and pay tribute to the singers and songwriters who started this journey so many years ago. Groups like Hovie Lister and the Statesmen Quartet, The Blackwood Brothers, The Jordanaires, The Blind Boys from Alabama, The Harmonizing Four, The Golden Gate Quartet, and many more who came after them, blazed a trail that we still follow today. To capture the pure essence and simplicity of the original recordings, we used players who were very intimate with the art form and recorded with vintage amps, guitars, and an upright bass. And yes, we sang and recorded the vocals like the groups did back then... on two microphones... no multi-tracking! We hope you enjoy this special project; but we really hope you never forget the names Jake, Hovie, Chief, Denver, and many, MANY others... we will not, WE CANNOT! Enjoy, Ernie Haase
