	Alisa Rose best known for her record-breaking recent campaign, to have Linda Martin return to TV which collected over 100,000 signatures making it the biggest petition of its kind in the world is about to launch her new project – a campaign entitled “Protection Not Profit”. Publicist and promoter Alisa Rose says “I was looking for a way to highlight and educate people regarding the very serious issue of puppy farming. I had intended to run a petition demanding legislation be implemented but it has become apparent that thankfully it has already been passed. It really is a matter of educating and warning people now about these irresponsible breeders who are simply interested in profit charging ridiculous prices for puppies, keeping dogs in horrendous conditions, have no breeding plan or regard for the animals health and experimenting unethically with cross breeding, sometimes with shocking results. Making puppy farms illegal is only the start. It will take time to weed them all out. Without clients willing to part with their money these breeders cannot do business. It’s up to the public to boycott them. In a lot of cases with people it is just ignorance, they don’t know what they’re doing but we’re appealing to them emotionally by making them aware of the plight of these dogs and practically by explaining that by buying from a substandard breeder they are likely to have a series of health problems with their puppy which they may be unable to cope wit if the dog even survives.” Alisa will be taking her campaign nationwide as she hosts the first national beauty pageant for dogs in Ireland. Heats for the contest which was inspired by Fox TV ‘s “Miss Dog America” will be held to find a representative male and female dog from each county who will battle it out at a final in Dublin. It will be open to all dogs, pedigree and crossbreed & proceeds ill go directly to local rescue centres. The contestants will be judged on beauty, poise, talent and intelligence.
