| Anything Box Interview - may 2007 | 915 días hace | ||
For those of you who may not know, Anything Box is set to release the long awaited EP entitled FuturePast. This EP will include 4 different remixes of "Carmen". Claude asked the ABOX street team to email their interviews to help promote the release, and here is mine:1 - You have so many great songs, name 3 songs that you favor the most. Claude: Too hard. Let me see. Automatons, World Without Love, Carmen. Subject to change without notice. 2 - Are there any plans to record an album similar to Peace, Worth, or Hope? Claude: Similar? If you mean electronic, yes. If you mean copy myself, no. 3 - What's the most important lesson you learned in the music business? Claude: That empires crumble. Seriously, though? I learned to be clear with my goals. 4 - If you could travel back in time, what era would you want to go to and what would you bring from the future? Claude: I do that all the time. From the future I bring a smile. 5 - If you were given the chance to play anywhere in the world, where would you want to play and why? Claude: Right now? Argentina, Japan, Australia, New Zealand. Perhaps all in that order. Peru! Spain... Pretty much anywhere is fine with good company. 6 - Describe how you feel right before your shows. Claude: Very nervous, but it all goes away once we are "on". I play mental pictures in my head of how it will go, almost always good of course, and it always ends up fine. 7 - Has there ever been a time where any of you guys felt like you've had enough of this music thing? Claude: Oh yeah. But not with the act of writing music. There is magic there, always. 8 - If you could work with any top-notch music producer, who would it be and why? Claude: I don't really care about that as much as I do the rooms they work in. I would rather rent a cottage on the ocean to get a vibe. A producer would only bring an outside influence, and I am not too into that. This is our music, not his. 9 - Elecktrodelica was way beyond its time, what was the inspiration behind the album? Claude: Life was the thing on a very personal and emotional level. As far as the technical aspect, I wanted to make a new road for electronic music. Many people accused us of abandoning Synthpop with that album, and I don't agree. What I did was find new roads to travel on towards the future. It is one of my favorite albums. 10 - How is the ABOX of today different from ABOX of 1989? Claude: Smarter. More creative, yet firmly rooted in a sense of wonder and friendship. Aside from that, we're good. ================================== FuturePast EP track Listing: Carmen Revisited Carmen Castellano Carmen (El Rosarino Mix) Carmen (Pipeloop Mix) Soul On Fire (Heartless Dub) Clean (Hajas Edit) Living In Oblivion (Chicago Haus Edit) Where Is Love & Happiness (Ultraviolet Edit) Interlude Movement 26 Every Distant Sigh...
