Brenden is a tough as nails cop who’s been undercover a lot… perhaps too much. He’s working for a vice unit trying to lure in a prostitute in one night when he finds himself unexpectedly attracted to his mark. The things she makes him feel are addictive, and even though she knew his game and got away, he craves more of her. When he meets up with her, he’s not sure he can ever let her go. Líadán has problems that Brenden can’t even begin to comprehend. Something about the man that tried to arrest her for prostitution has left her wanting more… so this time she seeks him out. When they come together, it’s like two halves of a whole. But with all that is going on, will it just be a short romance? Or can they last forever? This was a fantastic story that was definitely a page turner. Part of the fascination with this story for me was that both of the characters where alone and troubled, with lots of issues that had to be worked through. The way the author managed to change my opinion of almost every character in the book from the beginning was wonderful, and not something that is easily done, at least for me. Brenden’s sister and the way he regarded her at first was perfect, how like a sibling to ignore what is right in front of them, especially an over protective brother. I don’t want to go into a lot of detail about the plot because the story has a lot of twists and turns that are part of the pleasure of reading the story. There is a lot of violence in this book; it’s not for the faint at heart. Flesh and the Devil is an excellent story that I didn’t put down until I had read the entire thing, so be sure to give it a try!
