The blend of suspense, well drawn characters and a real sense of the period combine to make 'Bootlegger's Bride' a great read. ~Kara Lynn Russell If you like to experience love of long ago, this book is for you. Ms. Kindall does a fantastic job of transporting the reader into the past. Her characters are true to their times as well. Great read. I highly recommend it. ~P. Strout "At fifty-six pages, this book is the longest eBook I've read to date. Despite the trouble I have staring at the computer too long, one of the hardest things I've had to do in a long time was stop reading this in the middle and let my eyes recharge until the following day. *********************** "It was that good. The hero, Aidan, is a well-rounded, tortured but fascinating hero and Grace is a strong woman and good match for him. Ms. Kindall's writing is smooth and interesting, full of vivid description that plops the reader smack dab into the story. I danced in a speak-easy, drove a car full of shine and attended a funeral. I was right there with Aidan and Grace." ~Marianne Arkins The Long and the Short of It Full Review: http://longandshortreviews.blogspot.... ************************ Five Hearts from TRS! From the beginning, Ms. Marty Kindall had her 'work cut out for her.' Being the fourth in the series, the standards were so high that it would take an exceptional plot and characters to maintain the benchmark! I can assure you that Ms. Kindall was able to deliver the necessary criterion. The characters are diversified and so believable that it is almost impossible to put this book down. The plot, while not completely new, is fresh and well written. The presentation of Aidan from a man headed for seminary to a man who bootlegs to have the necessary money to escape with Grace is awesomely portrayed! Ms. Kindall has, indeed, maintained the high standards set by the previous authors of this series. When you read this, you will, as do I, anxiously await the next offering! ~ Brenda Talley, The Romance Studio Full review: http://theromancestudio.com/reviews/... *************************** Four Angels from Fallen Angel Reviews: Bootlegger's Bride is a tale with characters that stand out, show their weaknesses or strength and grabs hold of the reader. I wanted to jump into the pages and reach out to Aidan and Grace. I could hear their hearts screaming in pain to be together again and remove the barrier that stood between them. The freedom they sought to be away from their families and to be with each other could be felt by this reader. Marty Kindall creates a fantastic read that breathes life with each page. Her unique characters really make the story convincing and a complete joy to read. With the aftermath of the war, along with prohibition and bootlegging, not to mention the lengths that some politicians will go to, this tale spins with great creativity. This is my first story by Ms. Kindall, and it certainly won't be my last. I’ve grown to love the vintage age through this author’s skillful imagination. She brings every aspect of the 1920s to life—the sights, the sounds, and even the smells. She writes her characters almost as if she’s lived among them and knows exactly how they would act or react in different situations. At the heart of Bootlegger’s Bride is a gentle love story—two people who fight for each other and for a happy future together. And they’ll do whatever it takes to win. Love is all that matters—and love does not die an easy death. Bootlegger’s Bride is the fourth in the Legacy of the Celtic Brooch series. Thirteen authors were handpicked by The Wild Rose Press to put their imagination to work and write a story around the heirloom. If you collect all thirteen stories, you get thirteen chances at winning an actual Celtic Brooch. Now who says number 13 is unlucky? And if the rest of the stories are as good as Marty Kindall’s Bootlegger’s Bride, you’ll have a pleasurable trip collecting all of them.
