Kim Il-Sung is dead. It's his son, Kim Jong-Il, who heads the state now. Under Kim Il-Sung, as I understand it at least, the military weren't the substitutional 'revolutionary class' - that was one of Kim Jong-Il's modifications to his father's theory (which was already far from libertarian). The principles outlined in Kim Il-Sung's Juche theory weren't in itself such an autocratic abomination. In fact, it would be more palatable if the state actually existed according to said principles. The problem is that the existing circumstances and practices are in no way in adherence with Juche philosophy. He was fundamentally Stalinist. The problem for Marxist-Leninists such as yourself is that the DPRK represents one of the major criticisms of Socialism In One Country - that it opens the doors for opportunists. With ML tactics, you could have a reasonably benign, arguably benevolent vanguard - a la Castro - but without appropriate proletarian concsciousness, you risk a Kim Jong-Il. | |||
