	Kids Sink Blues Chris Herd and James Collins were the two-goal derby heroes as Villa's kids thrashed Birmingham City 4-1 at Bodymoor Heath. The victory was Villa's eighth in nine so far this season and the second derby victory in a week, after last week's 5-2 win at Coventry. Herd opened the scoring early on as Villa made the most of a corner and Collins, who scored two superb goals against Coventry City last weekend doubled Villa's lead with a well taken volley from the edge of the box. Villa's Young Lions dominated the opening 45 minutes and Herd added a deserved third deep into stoppage-time. The visitors gave a better account of themselves after the interval and reduced the arrears on 52, but Villa were never in any danger of throwing away the lead. Collins then struck in stoppage-time to complete the scoring as Villa secured a deserved derby victory.
