My Twilight Story325 días hace

[b] Stephenie Meyer - Twilight

I first saw the hype spreading all over YouTube in mid 2008, the most anticipated movie for tweens, young girls, young adults based on a novel written by Stephenie Meyer. I was like... oooh! at the spoiler they had at the time as I'm a sucker for vampires and special effects, which later lead to my disappointment but not in total.

After reading reviews and comments left by fans, interested me more in the characters of the book. After telling my wife about it who is a greater fan of vampire movies than I am, we purchased the first book in the series. I think she defined the word 'frenzy' in the 'Twilight Frenzy' or is it 'crazy'... when after 2 days of reading she was wanting more of the story. So on the 3rd day we purchased the remaining 3 books which was consequently read and completed in 3 days... "thats 5 days in total" for the complete series for those monster novels.

This got me thinking, "What's so special about these books?". As I originally had waited for the movie to screen, picked up the book to find out for myself.

One and a Half weeks later I layed the first book down with mixed feelings. Definitely a chick flick in the making but was it good enough for me to pick up the next book?

Four days later after reading "New Moon" which was definitely the hook read for me, got me anticipating for more of the story. After nearly a month I had successfully completed the Twilight series.

The final book in the series "Breaking Dawn" was definitely a surprise read mixed with "icky" and "eews" and embarrassing eye covering with my hands which then lead to more of the "macho" action I was anticipating.

Now, newly equipped with the story under my belt, came the daunting question, "would the movie live up to the book?". My answer, Yes and No. Yes to the story it portrait and No to the special effects and wardrobe. However considering that the producer of the movie was working with a low budget of $37 Million dollars compared to Harry Potter's first movie budget of $125 Million dollars. Also, only 4 characters stood out as genuine for me, Bela Swan, Charlie Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black.

In conclusion to this rant, the newly anticipated sequel to Twilight, "New Moon" is destined for great promises for the fans and equipped with a bigger budget and a new producer who specializes in my favorite "special effects" will hopefully do justice to the series.
