TATE OUT, WIKI IN FOR VODAFONE WARRIORS TEAM TO FACE PENRITH261 weeks ago

Centre Brent Tate will miss the Vodafone Warriors? round 10 NRL clash against Penrith after being named today in Queensland?s line-up for next week?s first State of Origin match in Sydney.

Tate, who has featured in all eight of his new club?s matches this season, becomes the fourth Vodafone Warrior to be selected for the Queensland Origin side, following Kevin Campion, P J Marsh and Steve Price while current captain Micheal Luck was called up as 18th man for last year?s final encounter.

With Tate absent, Jerome Ropati (23) returns in the centres after missing the last two games against Gold Coast and Canberra with a hamstring strain. He?ll combine with Ryan Shortland, who has scored three tries in his first four outings for the club.

Also back in the squad after missing the Canberra match with a hand injury is 295-game NRL veteran Ruben Wiki. He has been included on a five-man bench along with Ian Henderson, Wairangi Koopu, Russell Packer ? who became the club?s 141st first-grader in the Canberra clash ? and Logan Swann.

Epalahame Lauaki was elevated from the bench to start against the Raiders; now he has been handed a starting spot alongside Kiwi international Simon Mannering in the second row.

Winger Patrick Ah Van retains his spot after being brought in as a late replacement for the 14-6 win over the Raiders, the 150th victory in the club?s 322-game history.
The Vodafone Warriors go into the encounter with Penrith sitting 11th on the table with 10 points after last weekend?s bye.

When the two sides met at CUA Stadium in the final round of the regular season last year, the Vodafone Warriors won 24-20 to clinch a top four play-off spot.

While the Vodafone Warriors will be without Tate for Sunday?s match, Penrith has lost captain Petero Civoniceva to Origin duty for Queensland.
