	Four times in Singapore. Previously, only the architecture, history, and efficiency of the city-state revealed themselves to me. Now, scratching deeper, I'm discovering it's real essence, ambiance and zeitgeist. This short film on You Tube gives you an insight in just a few happy minutes... an amusing perspective from the eye of a talented low-budget/no-budget independent film-maker in Singapore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFSlf... While in this city I met film director Yee Wei, whose currently working on his first feature-length presentation. I very much admire Yee's open manner and generosity, and he's fueled in me plans for my own full-length film. I won't however be taking any lead from Hollywood, predisposed as it is with violence and cruelty. It would seem intent on teaching the children of the world to point guns at one another through action films watched by many children in places like Thailand and Indonesia. Hollywood would no doubt point to a lack of censorship and screening control, which entirely side steps the real issue of responsibility for the darkness these films bring into the collective consciouseness of mankind. They perpetuate a callousness and brutality in our pyschology reflecting badly on the west and which fall far short of our potential.
