| Wheatus.com renovation... April Showers opens TOMORROW! | 219 Tage her | ||
Hello interweb friends...We write to you today as a friendly reminder that TOMORROW, April 24th, is the theatrical release date for April Showers. For those of you who don't know, April Showers is an independent film that was written and directed by Andrew Robinson, a survivor of the Columbine High School massacre that happened almost exactly 10 years ago. The film is based on his experiences there and what the aftermath of the shooting was like for the survivors. This film also happens to feature TWO Wheatus songs, both of which are brand new and one of which was written specifically for the film. It's a project we are truly honored to be a part of, and with or without us, this film is definitely worth seeing. It's opening in a very limited number of theaters, so please check with www.aprilshowersmovie.com to see if it's playing somewhere near you. If it isn't, fear not. As part of a new indie marketing strategy, the film will be available on iTunes for digital download starting May 5th. Pre-orders for DVD/Blu-Ray are also currently taking place, and those will start shipping soon as well. Currently there is no international shipping for DVD/Blu-Ray, but we're investigating a few options and will get back to you soon. By the way, if you live in the NYC area, just about all of Wheatus will be attending the 7:35pm showing at The Pavillion Theater in Brooklyn. We'll get some drinks afterwards too. Come hang with us. Both songs from this film will be a part of The Lightning EP, which we can now officially announce will be digitally dropping on June 1st of this year. The Lightning EP is Volume 1 of a much larger collection of songs, called Pop, Songs & Death. We're hoping to release these Volumes seasonally, and are already in pre-production for Volume 2, which should be available this winter. On June 1st, you will be able to download The Lightning EP from wheatus.com through a pay-what-you-like system in a variety of formats, including ultra high-resolution DSD audio playback for use with Sony PS3. If that sounds intimidating, don't worry, we'll also have it in MP3, Apple Lossless, WMA Lossless, and FLAC. Though people can choose to pay nothing for the songs, people who are willing to make a minimal donation will be able to receive a pair of bonus tracks, as well as other exclusive content. The Lightning EP will eventually be available through all major digital retailers, such as iTunes, Amazon, etc., but the bonus tracks will be exclusive to wheatus.com. And speaking of wheatus.com, we have just had a MAJOR makeover there to prepare for all the new stuff that's going on. Take a gander and let us know what you think. Finally, are you following us on Twitter yet??? http://twitter.com/wheatus is quickly becoming THE place to get the most up-to-date information on us. We post there every day, and we try to respond to any and all questions you may have for us. And if you're really lucky, maybe you'll be able to catch Brendan on there, drunk, tweeting as he watches There Will Be Blood. It's 158 minutes of primo entertainment, I assure you. That's it for today. It was so nice getting to catch up with you all... let's do it again soon! It's a date. matthew wheatus | |||
