| What subjects did you study at school? GCSEs – Maths, Science x 2, IT, Eng x 2, Spanish, History, PE, RE A Levels – Maths, Physics, Eng Lit What qualifications do you need for your job? For this job you generally need a degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering. A masters degree or PhD in a relevant field also stands out, but not totally necessary. I did my Masters in Astronautics and Space Engineering. How much can I earn? Salaries start from about £22,000 depending on qualification and experience and you’d expect to see a substantial increase after one year. However, for me it’s about working the job of my dreams! What other careers can science and maths lead to? With a maths and science degree the possibilities are astronomical ; - ) From launching satellites to launching a new lipstick! What advice can you give to someone who wants to do your job? Try to keep your studies as broad as possible. Whatever you choose to do make sure you do it to the best of your ability.
