| What subjects did you study at school? A Level: Chemistry, biology and English literature GCSEs: 12 GCSEs including triple science, maths, history, geography, design and technology and French What qualifications do you need for your job? It’s really the skills learnt through your academic path from GCSEs through to university that help. How much can I earn? The job may not be paid well compared to many other industries, but I am happy with the living I makes from it. There are many great perks of the job, such as travelling to interesting places that most people in almost every other job will never experience. What other careers can Maths and Science lead to? I explored becoming a marine biologist while doing A-levels, but science and maths can lead to most other careers. What advice can you give someone who wants to do your job? It is a tough field to get into, but I never thought I would be working such extreme and varied conditions. Keep working towards your goal and talk to people involved in the area you want to go into. Your teachers can also help explain what is needed to reach your goal. Don’t give up at the first obstacle! | |||
