FURRY Needs Your Help!

Furry (nicknamed Fluffy by volunteers) is a mature (13 yrs old) cat who has had a difficult life being a sole companion to an old lady with mental health problems. Due to this she did suffer some neglect at points. We have known of Furry for 3 years when we helped foster her.

All Furry wants is love and some luxury in her time of life. She has been forced outdoors coming in at night, however, due to her weight she will need to remain indoors (she is loving it and doesn't even look to go out) for sometime as we help put weight on her. So far happy to snuggle up on my window ledge with a blanket and hot water bottle!!

She is fluffy grey and white sweet natured cat. PAWSS needs to raise money to have her blood tested by the vet. It is believed that she has an over active thyroid and is on tablets. She seems happy enough and all we want to do it check her blood count and maintain her tablets. We need your help to raise £100.00 to help towards her vet treatment. Please help us to give Furry a second chance.

Sooty and GypseyIl y a 105 jours

These two dogs still need a special home
Sooty and Gypsy are continuously overlooked and have been in foster care with The Blue Cross since March. We don’t understand why as they are such a lovely pair! Unfortunately their owner died and now we are looking for a home willing to take both Sooty and Gypsy as they are very attached to each other, having lived together all their lives.

Gypsy (Shetland Sheepdog) is the more outgoing of the two but Sooty (Collie X) is more affectionate. They currently live with other dogs, cats and poultry and has been fine with them all.

Sooty and Gypsy can be left for 5+ hours. We would like them to go to an adult home or a home with children over the age of 12 years old as we feel Sooty could become overly friendly and boisterous if unduly excited by young children.

Both are very affectionate and active dogs who loves getting attention. They love their walks, travelling in the car and playing with toys.

Sooty & Gypsy are in The Blue Cross Foster Scheme in Scotland and are being fostered in the Highlands. If interested, please telephone 0300 456 8500.

PUPPY BREEDERS ANOTHER CRUELTY CASEIl y a 125 jours

Animal cruelty raises its ugly head again – in Alloa, Clackmannshire. After a woman’s dogs ‘accidently’ mated, she left 3 puppies starving in a cage full of excrement while pocketing hundreds of pounds by selling their six siblings for £120 to £160 each. Our legal system does not provide enough protection to the animals either – disappointingly, the woman was let off, despite horrific cruelty. Read more here http://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-cen...
The animals need your help – get active for animals http://www.bunnyhuggers.org.uk/event...

WE ARE GATHERING INFO ON A LOCAL ABERDEEN BREEDER WHO ALLEGEDLY LEFT A LITTER OF PUPS WHO NEEDED HANDREARING TO DIE A SLOW DEATH BEFORE BINNING THE BODY'S IN A BIN.

MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE AS THE INCREASE IN FOLK BREEDING FOR PROFIT AND NOT FOR GENUINE INTEREST IN THE BREED OR WELFARE

WELFARE UPDATES 22/06/09Il y a 165 jours

A poisoned red kite was found dead on the Scottish Borders along with several baits and injured hunting dogs on Raeshaw estate in Peebles earlier this month. Its absolutely appalling that animals are still killed for sport. There's been some interest in getting active against hunting, so if you want to get your outdoor gear on and get active for animals contact Bunny Huggers http://www.bunnyhuggers.org.uk

ANIMAL Cruelty worse in ScotlandIl y a 233 jours

http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scot...

A druggy tied up a female staffy to a fence set her alight and made the owner watch as she strangled herself to death, trying to escape. Another owner took their loyal companion of 14 yrs and tried to kill it in a wood. Hitting it twice then slitting its throat, leaving it to bleed to death.

Another gang of youths tied a hamster to a rocket, drowned a bunny in a pond. This isn't another country, or down south, were we can say oh its not happening in our town, it is......dont turn a blind eye, if you know of a dog kept in poor condition in a balcony, a rabbit being neglected in a hutch, a gang battering a dog in the street tell someone. Parents? you need to educate you kids on pet care, and or find out what they are upto when they leave your home. Listen to their conversation...we need to change our society's attitude about animals being disposable, materialistic commodities.
Together we can change attitudes. Often an animal abuser will hurt children
