| At the beginning of October V V was amongst the artists that kicked off the Oxjam Music Festival at a special gig in an Oxfam shop in London. Since then other Oxjam events, organised by members of the public, have been taking place up and down the country - from a world record breaking 17 hour continuous freestyle rap in Cardiff, to heavenly gospel choirs in Leicester. There are only a few days left of Oxfam's month of music dedicated to fighting poverty, so get on the website, check out the video of V V at the launch gig and take a look at other Oxjam events that are happening near you. Well, an expert panel last week narrowed the 500 entrants down to a shortlist of 5, and thousands of Metro readers voted to crown The Stow the winners of the MEmusic and Nissan QASHQAI's Online and Ontour competition! "It took a while to sink in but we're absolutely ecstatic with the result" said band member Will Brown. "To get this opportunity to tour with such a fantastic artist could really open doors for us and hopefully take our career to the next level. We're over the moon."
