"The summer 2008 show from LIVING - video, pics and updates from the island paradise."
| And now... the end is near... | 444 dagen geleden | ||
| All good things come to an end and sadly the Ibiza summer season is drawing to a close. For many of the workers in Ibiza it means the end of their perma-tans, worker's discount and most regrettably the clubbing culture which they have exploited for maximum fun. Imagine working in Ibiza all Summer and then returning to the grey skies of England... ah well theres always next year... And so after a good few months spent on the White Isle, I am forced to ask myself - what will I miss most about the place that I have begun to call my home. Will it be the 24 hour lifestyle - clubbing when you should be sleeping, eating at any possible opportunity and drinking (a bit)? Will it be the beautiful beaches, the magical nature of Es Vedra and Atlantis, or the solitude at Cala Moli? Could it be the glamour and the shopping in Ibiza Town, or the sights, the sounds, the colours of the hippies at Benniras and the market at Es Canard? Or perhaps the friendly staff at the Hotel Marfil - possibly the best hotel in the world? So as I sit back and enjoy the remnants of my San Miguel whilst tapping away at my laptop, I invite you all to tell me what you'll miss most about this amazing, wondrous, fantastic island of contradictions. For me, It's beauty lies in its duality - the best clubbing experience in the entire world and also one of the most breathtakingly picturesque and culturally rich islands as well. Ibiza *sniff* *sniff* We'll miss you! | |||

| The Evolution of Ibiza's music scene | 452 dagen geleden | ||
| Ibiza is like dance music Ronseal - when we fly over we know exactly what we're going to get - dance music and a lot of it. Now if you don't like dance music, in particular house, techno or trance then you're going to have to search that little bit harder for suitable thrills or maybe you should just be on a different island. HOWEVER if you do search beyond the most popular nights then you wil find that Ibiza's nightlife caters for for most musical tastes: Fancy a spot of garage and missed your flight to Ayia Napa - then you can enjoy the Sound of Bassline garage at Es Paradis, or get a little bit old skool at Twice as Nice. Rock music is increasingly popular in Ibiza and the ever growing strength and presence of Ibiza Rocks on the island shows that rock is here to stay. Elecro remixes of indie songs continue to pulsate through the clubs here alongside harder, techier sounds. Expect to see more live music coming to the island in the upcoming years as Ibiza not only continues its progression of dance music, but embraces rock and other forms of music. So will Ibiza lose its dance music identity in the future? Or will Ibiza as an island that simply represents the BEST OF music from around the world? Let us know what you think! | |||

| It's not all about clubbing... | 460 dagen geleden | ||
| When you're not drenched in sweat with your arms raised in the air awaiting the drop from the DJ, what do you get up to? Let's not forget that Ibiza is one of the most beautiful islands in the world - the sea is unbelivably clear, the beaches are gorgeous and white and the scenery is instantly memorable... We like to chill out on the beach at Es Vedra near one of the most magnetic rocks in the world, or check out the hippy market at Es Canard or go shopping in Ibiza Town! So let us know what you like to do to recover from your nights out - are you strictly beach during the day or do you like to explore the island and see what other gems it has to offer? | |||

| Ever since the seminal film Kevin and Perry Go Large confirmed Ibiza as a dance music mecca, hoardes of eager dance heads have flocked to the White Isle in search of that ultimate clubbing experience.... WELL, actually since the 80s/early 90s dance music connoisseurs had been satisfying their cravings at arguably the best clubbing destinations in the world, but anyway... The fact is that Ibiza is synonymous with dance music and the DJs which brought about its global fame - Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Judge Jules (to name a few), are still enthralling the Ibizan crowds today. Kevin and Perry favoured Amnesia, but with Ibiza boasting so many different clubbing venues, this begs the difficult question - what is your favourite club night? Has Tiesto enthralled you in the world's biggest club - Privilege? Do you love Space on Sundays at We Love Space? Is Sven Vath's minimal haven Cocoon at Amnesia top of your list? Can't get enough of Hed Kandi whether it's back in England or at El Divino? Or do you prefer the atmosphere of Eden and Es Paradis in the regenerated San Antonio? Maybe you've been waiting all Summer for the reopening of the legendary DC10? Whatever floats your boat club-wise, let us know and hopefully we can make sure you all have the most euphoric and memorable clubbing experience when you land in Ibiza! | |||

| Beach bods and challenges | 488 dagen geleden | ||
| We've been spotting a lot of beach hunks lately so we thought we'd get some eye candy on film for you girls out there. We interviewed a few bronzed men at Bora Bora beach, it was very flirty and fun! We went on to Selines beach which is jam packed with people, hardly anyone spoke English unfortunately, but who cares when the package is that pretty! We proceeded to the beach at San Antonio to get the low down on tanning and beach bodies from some beautiful women, it was a bit cheeky but we got some good inside tips from the pros. After all the hot bods we decided to distract ourselves and tried out a couple of beach challenges, is it possible to catch a frisbee in your mouth for example!? which led to many failed attempts by a group of lads diving at a frisbee with their mouths wide open. The most amazing beach challenge we set up, we're gonna keep quiet about for now, you'll have to wait and watch the videos to find out....... | |||

| Full moon party... anyone seen a full moon party?? | 492 dagen geleden | ||
| Last week we chased the full moon party that we thought was happening at Benniras, alas we heard wrong and Benniras was strangely quiet and also devoid of any sort of moon in the sky from there. So we headed to Aura, a beautiful bar/restaurant with massive bed like seating areas and a dance-floor. It was a very cool bar, far removed from bars in West-End of San Antonio. We were there for night called Empire which is Allister Logue's night inspired by Roman decadance and hedonism... which essentially equates to beautiful female dancers in minuscule Roman garb, Allister in a toga and assorted Roman paraphernalia throughout the bar. Very fun, very cool and full of beautiful people. Oh yeah the full-moon party was in Portinatx that night and was apparently amazing, but we'd had fun at Empire anyway so it was all good. | |||

| Celeb spotting... | 499 dagen geleden | ||
| Checked out a couple of beaches. Selines in the south of the island is noted for it's quality of sand and water... apparently a lot of celebrities hang out there! Unfortunately I didn't see any... and it seemed like half the island was trying to get a look in as well, the beach was packed. Not the private idyllic beach I had hoped for, but I'm still searching. Also went to the Blue Marlin and filmed with a couple of girls from heat magazine who were looking to interview people about their beach wear. The Blue Marlin is quite an exclusive hangout (James Blunt often goes there, but alas I did not spot him) and the ambience and people were extremely glamourous. Definitely somewhere to go if you want to chill out in Ibiza, have a few nice cocktails and take in the beautiful view whilst their DJ plays fantastic deep house music. Tune in to hear about brekkie raving! | |||
